Good writing, clunky gameplay.
It's ok. Nice writing, good VA and diferent setting makes up for the clunky movement and buggy mechanics imo.

Ace story, mid gameplay.
TLDR: Anyone saying this game was "Gritty for gritty's sake" is a lil BICH and can't handle a bleak narrative. Gameplay is servicable, kinda annoying how innacurate guns are after spitting distance, but it's servicable for what it does narratively. Performance is ass, the game stutters and chugs a lot, CTD a few times, but I did find myself jumping right back in when it did. The story carries this game. It ain't gonna change your life but if you saw and enjoyed Heat, this is darker. Tropier too, but still interesting enough to see me through it.

Flawed but Raw, Worth Experiencing.
Kane & Lynch: Dead Men has one of the more unique histories in gaming. It definitely has its flaws—some big, some small—but the sharp dialogue and the way the actors deliver it really carry the experience. The same can’t fully be said for the gameplay. While fun most of the time, the terrible AI, somewhat clunky cover mechanics, sudden difficulty spikes in the last chapter, and a fair share of bugs can make it tough to play by today’s standards. That said, the level design is surprisingly creative for its era. The way civilians are implemented in the missions adds a sense of chaos and immersion that few games dared to try back then. For every flaw Kane & Lynch: Dead Men stumbles on, it makes up for it with style, uniqueness, rawness, and pure entertainment.

lack of QOL
The lack of QOL features killed this game for me. Everything in this game is poorly executed and mediocre. The shot dispersion is atrocious; sometimes even the first shot won't hit the target. Your grenades will bounce off invisible corners. Your allies will always be in your line of fire. The stealth phases are bland. The only thing saving this game from receiving one star is its atmosphere and its ridiculously low price when it's on sale.
