Difficult, but...

I76 is one of those games that still amaze me, for several reasons. I'll only mention one, because that's the single feature I've been missing in ALL other racing games: The automatic gearbox actually feels real. It's not just a matter of revving up to the max and then shift into the next gear, instead like in real life shifting very much depends on how much you step on the accel-pedal. The lesser you step on it, the earlier the auto gear box will shift up. God, I love it.

Interstate '76

This is one of those games that was one of the best games you ever played, that hardly anyone you know also played, and the sequel was a heaping pile of you know what so the franchise just died. I must have played this game all of the way through like 4 times. That's a lot coming from a guy who has a reputation for not finishing the games he purchases. I'm gonna shoot for #5 :) You won't be disappointed if you like driving games, games with a storyline, and a touch of cheesy 70s style. The graphics are very flat and low on textures, but don't let that deter you as this was a style choice even when it was made. I hope you enjoy this game as much as I have.

This brings back memories . . .

I used to play I76 with my friend back in the day. It's what brought about my current love for funk music, and it's the best vehicular combat game I've ever played. The story is surprisingly deep for the time, being a sort of mix between Mad Max and Shaft. Reading that now, I've realized that it is the most amazing combination ever conceived. Anything crossed with Mad Max OR Shaft is a guaranteed faunt of awesome, so crossing the two is like dividing by the square root of 90.

Hell, it's game awesome! I'm from Russia, and I've always liked American cars - you can imagine the pleasure a boy rides his cool cars that are due to taxes, environmental, and other garbage he would never drive, even in an age when a bicycle and a sit down not? Hell, the coolest mode - free fight. Collect a car - and into battle! I do not remember the plot, mlenky was, did not know English, and Russian translators for hope - is the same as in America with their fucking democracy is not and was not. But the machine cool. PS Thanks to Google, translit for something that helped write the message, and then my poor English and was completely broken, even worse than what is written above.

My favorite game of all time

I love the cars, the guns, the music, the story, the salvaging, the poems and jokes. I loved playing online, but we can't anymore D= The overall "feel" of the game is soo nice to me. It's relaxed, beautiful, vicious. Listening to that V8 rumble checking for creepers on the radar. Never get out of the car.
