Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers

In my opinion this game has such a good story that it neglects age, graphics, sound or any other discrepancies it may have now. It was a masterpiece when it came out. Therefore real GOGers, especially of adventurous type should check it out. Please be warned that logic of some puzzles and old fashioned point & click type of playing makes the game quite difficult to complete, so I recommend casual players to arm themselves with hint guides which are easily googled online. Story is really that good.

Jane Jensen has immersed us beautifully into the world of Gabriel Knight. A middle aged author who has the hots for women and a knack for winding up places he probably shouldn't be. A great thrilling story with fantastic voice acting by Tim Curry (Gabriel Knight.) among others.

...I think so,Just love it,fantastic soundtrack,themes,voice characters,and a exciting plot that`s gonna give you hard time to exit the game ,especially every time you discover a new clue with that "pling-sound" on the screen. Sometimes I got frustrated when a day never ended because of a non discovered clue,But as soon I heard that "pling-sound" again,I just wanted to play further, Lots of really cool stuff/puzzles to do,like turn up the heat in inspector Mosely`s office so he have to take of his jacket,then later steal his police-badge from it, Love Gabriel flirty Prince chariming tone to Grace,If you try to touch Grace with the "grab-icon" he think`s out loud : "Like I have`n t tried,LOL,really cool to insult Mosely with his hairloss also ,hahaha Really one og the coolest point & click game ever around,Think I `m gonna pay me a visit fort myself to the New Orleans after playing it ! Dang I`m so thrilled that i can play this classic (and some others) again on a Windows 7 OS,and works great ! thanx GOG " :)

I didn't know about this game when it was released, but I purchased it because of the good ratings here and I must say I am VERY impressed. Besides some pixel hunting and two or three not obvious puzzles, the game has all what a good old adventure needs to have: good atmosphere, good characters, good puzzles, good sense of humor and a very good story. I always associated Sierra with "hard adventures in which you can die", which didn't happened with Lucasfilm, but that's not true here. Well, you can die, but that's not a bothering thing in the game, it's only something occasional and justified. If you are so stupid to get into a party where you know you have not been invited without taking some kind of precautions, that's your fault. I'm even more surprised to see that most New Orleans places and streets depicted in the game do really exist. Maybe there even exists a Gabriel Knight freaky-tour around the city. If I travel to New Orleans some day, I'll go to confess my sins at St. Louis. I need to check something... Really, buy this game! It goes directly to your child memory even if you hadn't played it when you were a child.
