DOOM (2016)

Good classic FPS gameplay, but it gets boring after a while, especially later in the game when enemies become bullet sponges. Worth it if on sale under $5.

I've been a huge fan of Doom since it's release, the first game I ever play. When DOOM (2016) was announced I was happy and worried, but when the game released was a pleasant surprise and become an instant classic. I have played DOOM Eternal too, but the simple and fast action of DOOM make it my favourite of the two, because feel like the right step between classic and modern, it's the same formula updated!!!! Love this game and obviously recommend it, you feel the power of the Doom Slayer when you get more and more weapons and upgrades, by the end you will be unstoppable! 10/10 or 5 out of 5 Stars here on GOG! PS: SNAP MAP IS AVAILABLE IN GAME AND YOU DON'T NEED A CONNECTION TO USE IT. LONG LIVE TO DRM Free King! PS2: Now bring RAGE and RAGE 2, those game deserve a DRM Free spot on GOG for ages now, c'mon Bethesda and id Software :D

Ce jeu est excellent, et vaut le détour, il n'y a pas à dire. Cependant, la version ici présente sur GoG des différences avec celle de Steam qui peuvent vous refroidir (ou pas). Pour les plus, cette version coûte un poil moins cher, sauf si vous prenez le bundle qui donne l'OST (qui vaut à elle seule 8 balles) Pour les points négatifs... Pas de multi ni de SnapMap ici. J'imagine que ce n'est pas grave si vous compter uniquement jouer le mode solo, mais je pense que dans ce cas-là le prix aurait dû être nettement plus réduit. On pourrait penser que ce n'est pas grave, car si on achète sur GoG c'est pour avoir des jeux sans DRM... Sauf que ça fait belle lurette que Doom n'a plus de DRM Denuvo, et le prix à payer est donc de perdre le mode multi sans bénéfice réellement notable selon moi. Faites donc bien attention en prenant cette version ! Et si vous l'avez déjà prise... Aucun regret ! Profitez de ce jeu incroyable, juste sans le multi :) !

The game is so much fun! And it's finally here DRM-Free! For those who are trying to run it on Linux through Wine (Lutris etc...) or on Steam deck through Proton, and are getting just a black screen or nothing at all, I have a possible solution that worked in my case. The problem is caused most likely due to the Visual C++ version (that comes with the game) that is installed on your wine prefix being too old. So to fix it, you just have to install the game normally and run it so you can unlock the "install .exe under wine prefix option". After that, close the game forcefully (via task monitor , task manager etc...) and download the most recent version of Visual C++ from the Microsoft official site (apparently I can't put the link here, be sure to download the right version for your system, if it is 64 bits download through the link after X64) and install it under the game's wine prefix. After that, just try to run the game again and it should work. Another tip is that once inside of the ingame menus, change the graphic renderer from OpenGL to Vulkan if your Graphics card supports it. It will increase the game performance a lot.

So cool...the game itself and the fact that it's here...I'd also really like DOOM Eternal...and RAGE 1&2...it would be just super cool.
