Story
You’ve come here for a reason. The Union Aerospace Corporation’s massive research facility on Mars is overwhelmed by fierce and powerful demons, and only one person stands between their world and ours. As the lone DOOM Marine, you’ve been activated to do one thing – kill them all.
A Relentless Campaign

This is the phenomenal 2016 game finally getting released in beautiful DRM free glory! Super fun well paced combat! If you love getting in people's faces when you play first person shooters this game is for you. Glory kills are awesome. Soundtrack is amazing if you like metal. The weapon sandbox is awesome but admittedly I find myself crutching the super shotgun and gauss cannon. Gauss cannon in terms of weapon design, sound, effects and damage it deals it probably my favorite.
I originally bought this on Steam during a sale. It's a great game and performs well. I had little to no performance issues at the time of release. The game plays more like a classic Doom game. Weapons feel good and sound good. Everything in the game feels nice and beefy. I wish multiplayer worked on the GoG version, despite this game being 9 years old. I'm hoping GoG will find a way to get multiplayer to work.
It only took nine years for the arrival of DOOM 2016 at GOG, but it`s finally here. With no DRM... and Multiplayer? But to be honest, nobody plays DOOM multiplayer, or even touch the Snapmap thingy.
Now the game itself, for those who still didn't played it somehow: is pretty much a AAA Painkiller, with FarCry 3 takedowns and upgrades system. Most of the guns (especially the Gauss Cannon, that thing is sexy AF) are a joy to shoot, the soundtrack is alright and the enemy roster is decent. My only complain with DOOM 2016, is the difficulty drop after the second half, and drags itself on and on. Oh, and the playthrough for this review of mine was made on Nightmare difficulty, so if it's your first time I recommend going with the Ultra Violence.
A welcome return to form for the DOOM franchise after the controversial Doom 3. Also comes with one of, if not, the greatest metal soundtracks in games. Needless to say, it's good to have it DRM-free even after 9 years.
