Really fun game

I think the first one is slightly better in terms of story/plot. You have the rat plague and the dishonoured protector, the "hidden rebel base" and the princess. It had so many elements that made everything make more sense why he has to go to all these places and do what he has to do. In this second one you have the ship and travel to various locations though some of these locations are more loosely connected by an overarching plot though at times feels more like the plot is a gimmick to make all these different locations more united. It does get better as you progress in the game. The final level is quite impressive. The design is much better and the world is more pretty and realistic than the first one.

Killed by optimisation

I absolutely loved first one. But whole joy in this one is killed by horrible optimisation. Which is still largely unresolved. They should have stick to Unreal Engine.

Even better than the first game, and...

...certainly better than the third! This is based on playing the "Dishonored 2" in the "Complete Edition": The second game in the series I played through FOUR TIMES. That in itself should speak volumes about how great this game is! I usually do not bother to play through good games more than twice (as I for example did with the two first and great Bioshock games). But it was fun to play through this game testing different aproches and tactics and see the difference different choices made during the game itself and in the end. I think I had just 1 or 2 crashes in >100h. My only grievances regarding this game was that I felt that it maybe started out being to hard, and perhaps ended being to easy during the first play through. Some of the puzzles, like robbing 1 or 2 of the black markets I found unnecessary hard to figure out. But It might have been meant to be exclusive for just a few to solve... I hated the "Crack in the slab" mission the first time I played through it, and the way I was forced to play "with my hands tied to my back" to say it without spoiling anything... But the second time I played through the mission, I realized the possibilities, the impacts different solutions and actions had and so on, and I loved that mission afterwords! To me that mission is almost two and a half missions combined into one... "The Clockwork mansion" was also a really great mission with its possible variations for how to play and solve it. Playing through the game in Mission+ was even more fun than the first time(s)! Definitely five solid stars for this game!

Great at a discount

I got this game for around 6 euros, at a discount a month ago. It was absolutely worth it. I already played the first game on Steam and loved it, and decided to try this one. I finished the game in 17 hours on low chaos (finished it once, before, with Emily, just not here), trying to avoid killing. The graphics are good, the characters are likable, there's quite a lot of replayability considering that you have two characters and you can finish the game on either lor or high chaos with each. You also have New Game + so that's a plus. I'm not really sure what's with all the hate for this game. It's more than decent. Sure, it might not be as good as the first one, but I still think it has enough good to overshadow the bad. Story is fine, the levels are okay and there's quite a lot to do in them. It took me 17 hours to finish the first playthrough because I actually went out of my way and tried to collect everything, open every safe and so on. Overall, great game. I'm not sure if it would be worth it at full price, but at a discount, it's a good deal.

Masterpiece

It's just a masterpiece. I've played Dishonored: Definitive Edition and this is an upgrade in every matter. The caracters even speak my native language now! This is truly a very good AAA experience, without being too annoying with cutscenes.
