Disappointing Sequel
This was a tremendous disappointment after the excellent first game. Deus Ex: Invisible War is a scaled-down, "console-ized" offering where the developers hoped to increase sales to console owners instead of creating a masterpiece sequel. They tried to capitalize of the then-ongoing Iraq War with the subtitle of "The Future War on Terror", which only made it seem that much worse. Hopefully, this will all turn out to be a simulation in the mind of some artificial intelligence and can be safely removed from the canon. Hopefully the original Deus Ex will provide a true sequel, as there is still plenty of time to set it after the original and before this awful offering. There is still a decent game here, dispute the direction the story takes, and the game is worth the current price of $0.97. The four possible endings could not manage a decent one, as not one is satisfactory to be considered the "good" ending. It's little wonder why the developers chose to create a prequel for their next project, which turned out to be one of the best games ever.

Better than the prequel
Don't know exactly why fanboys of the first game dislike IW. Because it made a mockery of the ridiculous dial-an-ending, making all 3 canon? Because ammunition is now universal (sounds pretty cyberpunk to me)? Because JC Denton is now "evil"?

No. Just, just no.
I got this game for Xbox thinking it would really good, being a sequel to what I think is the best game ever made. Unfortunately, I was completely disappointed. Even if you remove Deus Ex from the title, the game still is horrendously bad, with incredibly linear and small environments with a story so laughably mediocre it makes Michael Bay look like Francis Ford Coppola. This game completely scarred my childhood, to the point where I can't even look at the game any more or even acknowledge its existence when brought up in conversation. Invisible War, avoid.

Worth the purchase
Worse than the original Deus Ex, but I prefer this to Human Revolution because this game isn't embarrassed by first person gameplay. Other reviews have said that this is good, but worse than Deus Ex 1. However, there were some changes I liked: -Passive augmentations that don't consume energy. (Making silent footsteps worth acquiring.) -X-ray vision that works -Improved weapon modification -Universal augmentation canisters can acquire powers you want early in game
