An Interactive Sci-Fi Short Story
Now, first of all, the game is completely divorced from reality. The premise makes little sense on multiple levels an it takes an effort to put it aside and get into the game. The true story is not being told till the last third of the game, which is a shame, because it is quite touching. I get it that from the point of a small studio, spending time on writing in more detailed personal stories of people involved and adding more flair to counteract the generic environment feel dominated by repetitive decals would not make much sense time/money wise. At least the larger environmental structures are done well and every location gets pretty much unique feel. The decision to avoid realistic human models in favor of holograms and our protagonist's spacesuit was a very good one. The voice acting was good, lines did not bore and I looked forward to them. It was weird that the protagonist did not drop a single line. I don't think that a line here and there would hurt the immersion in this particular game. The ending was satisfactory. Not everything got resolved, but I felt rewarded for the effort I have put in. Now this review might look like I do not recommend the game, but I actually think that this short story is worth being heard by you. I especially recommend it to anyone who considers making games, because it offers a lot to learn from. Good and bad. So while not exactly a Citizen Sleeper, I will recommend it along with Tacoma. Thanks for the game!
