Phenominal

I wish I had known about this game sooner. It's a survival-lite game, mechanically focused on balancing your colony's activities with the colonists' needs. The combat I'd compare to "Darkest Dungeon", but much more simplified. Everything is luck mitigation; which I personally prefer to a straight-forward puzzle solving optimization games. It's both relaxing and stressful; simple and complex. The artwork is charming, the writing is well done, and I loved the inclusion of real-life lore (both historical and mythological). I loved every bit of it.

Good Game but too much dialogue

This is a cool Game that plays out differently each go round. Your decisions have weight (for the most part) and there are usually cons with every pro. The combat is good enough to give the game a little bit more complexity. I actually created a a list of my people with their stat weights. My issue are the night time conversations - they do not appear to change - they are the same every time you play through. They take to long and cannot be skipped. After one play through, I did not care about the story and was frustrated that I had to reread it all over again. The diagloue becomes to much for me in regards to replaying the game. I simply turned it off and did something else.

Kinda fun

I don't play many management sims so that might be way i'm having such a hard time getting into this game. I feel like there are way to many layers of rng. Every activity is rng based and it makes the start (which is the only part of the game i've experience after 10h) extremely hard and punishing. This game kicks you in the nuts harder and more often than darkest dungeon. I never feel like I get stuff under controll. Every day is just stress and hoping shit doesn't get worse. I'm still giving it a 3 star since if you like this kind of stuff I think you might have quite a few hours of fun.

Charming and addictive!

A slice-of-life simulator for some Viking castaways. This has the whimsy of ones of those weird French cartoons that's nominally about history, and funded by educational grants, but is not exactly "accurate" in every respect... This is enough (imho) to tie together the experience, freeing the tone and plot to merrily jaunt about. There was more depth between characters' interactions than I expected. Most of the game is resource management with some "cutscenes" for combat, plot, and family dynamics; events in the resource management section can affect you in combat and vice-versa. The other interactions are mostly in "visual novel" form; you will find some are "mature" (in any of its senses).

Better than its parts

The story and characters is good, the exploration and basebuilding are good but somewhat hard to get into. Some buildings are simply better than other and some locations almost requires a walkthrough. Combat are ok but fairly simple. What makes me give it a 4 is that the parts play into eachother. Do you get looters so you dont have to build certain buildings early? Do you keep people that are worse than others because they are interesting?
