The game isn't to hard..for me.
This game is difficult, and unfair which is a major turn off for some. However nomatter what they have no game over for the save file so you could technically win through pure time alone. Wither that's fun is for the indivdual player to decide but personally I belive this game is to diffucalt. I personally have 200 hours in the game without looking at youtube videos or twitch streams and still haven't beaten the game due to the diffcualty, but even then all I need to do is grind and unlike darksouls or bloodborne, every grind is a completely new and random experience. P.S- F the hag

Amazing game!
Darkest Dungeon is a great game! The artwork, theme and game mechanics on their own almost make it worth the buy. I like the game a lot. The design is amazing! The comic graphics style and the lovecraftian theme are both high quality and it's amazing how well they work together. They give the game a special feel that I like. It just fits! The game mechanics, e.g. the combat system, are ingeniously simple and work well. Yes, the game is difficult, especially Level 5 upwards! After you found out what's important in the game, Level 1 and 3 is not that hard and very enjoyable. On the verge to Level 5 dungeons the difficulty level rises too steep for my taste. But after several approaches and managing to buy the appropriate armor and weapons level for my heroes, it became almost manageable for me. Level 5 Bosses, the Darkest Dungeon and the Siege Town Event are still very problematic, but I guess it has to be that way. The game is meant to be difficult! It's an outstanding game!

This game is smart!
Imagine Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung created an RPG game based on the works of Edgar Allen Poe and HP Lovecraft and the developer might come up with something like Darkest Dungeon. What I really enjoy the most is the emergent neurosis (and psychosis) of my would-be heroes as they delve deeper into the never-ending horror in the house on the hill you have inherited from a very deranged relative. It's action is light but it does it right and is very rewarding, just keep an eye on that guy with the gun and his neurotic impulses to fire it at anything that moves. You will have to commit many of your heroes into the sanitarium or you can just dump them off in the gutter and get more, it all depends as YOU also succumb to the madness of managing this eldritch horror you have inherited.

Great Game - just not for everyone
It's been a long time since a game captivated me like Darkest Dungeon did. It's a rather original mix of a tactical dungeon crawling gameplay and strategic hero- and town management. But be warned: this game is not suited for casual play! You really have to understand the game mechanics to progress AND put a lot of time into it, to make it through. If you like numbercrunching and experimenting with different party compositions skill layouts and such, you're in for endless hours of fun. If you just want to leisurely experience a well written narrative, better play something else. That being said, Darkest Dungeon does a lot of things surprisingly good. Gameplay is compelling and deep, art design is simple but elegant with a memorable narrator. Due to it's unforgiving nature it can become a bit grindy towards the end. The recently introduced radiant mode helps with this, as does a good strategy. The only thing I need to critisize (depite lacking a true "easy mode" for casual players) is that a lot of important game mechanics aren't really well explaind ingame (if at all). This contributes a lot to the initial difficulty and I for myself don't think that difficulty by obscurity is good game design. I want to know by which rules I'm playing before I place my bet. Fortunately there is good very good Wiki on the web for this game.
