Good, except glitches

I play on PS4, and it's a great game except for all the times it glitches and kicks me out to the PS4 home screen. Once all the bugs are fixed it will be a great game.

It's half the masterpiece it coulda been

Cyberpunk 2077 is just a whisp of the game that was envisioned, and what's there is disjointed and has glaring missed opportunities at every turn. It's also a lot of fun. I have more than 100 hours in it and am far from being finished with it (though I did "finish" the main quest awhile ago). The story is like every other aspect of it: sometimes amazing, sometimes in dire need of refinement and expansion. Even so, I was hooked on it and loved playing through the heavily-scripted main quest. The audiovisual splendor of the FPS gameplay is probably the strongest part of the game. While you eventually get overpowered weapons & abilities, and the friendly AI is awful, the simple look and feel of shooting up shiny foes is consistently satisfying and is what makes the game fun even after all the substantive story content is exhausted. The open world is the least developed aspect of the game, with "activities" that amount to shooting 3-5 random enemies at the spot marked on the map and picking up a text log. These are generally nonsensical, though there is a bit of a connection between the characters mentioned in the text logs at different sites. I found this part of the game painfully bad when playing through it the first time, but now that I've finished all of the story content, I'm having a lot of fun going through these.

A solid experience

Cyberpunk 2077 has had a rocky start. No denying it. Patches have come and gone. So have disappointments. I can't speak for how it was earlier, only how it is now. And brother, it's good! THE GOOD: - Combat: Fun, fast paced, chaotic. All of that and more. There are so many options on how to approach combat in Cyberpunk. Hacking, stealth, shooting, all play a part. It's easy to switch between the different aspects. - Dialogue/Story: Absolutely magnificent. CDPR have really put a lot of effort into this. From the various fixers to V to random citizens of Night City. The chrome auto-translator from a different language into something you can understand (in my case, English) is sublime work. It really brings the whole experience up another level. - Weapons: From swords to monowires to powerful rifles and handguns. So many different weapons to choose from, all with their different perks and special abilites. Options are good and I feel there's plenty of them to pick from. - Hacking: Not to everyone's liking but I found it quite enjoyable. Also an easy way to earn money once you put some points into it. It can help out in combat or before combat. Thinning the ranks before engaging or turning hardware (turrets, mines, etc.) to your side. - Jobs/Gigs: There's always something to do. Always something to collect. Always somewhere to explore. You'll never lack for things to do. THE BAD: There are certain issues that creep up every now and then that need to be addressed. By no means game-breaking but certainly annoying in their own right. - Unarmed combat: Occasionally it will just stop working. When you press a button to punch, the hands just come up and down. Reload fixes it, but it's still annoying. - Driving: It's finicky at best. Cars feel like they're driving on soap. - Certain interactable buttons not working or doors not opening. Again, reload fixes it. Still annoying. I had a fun time in this game. A solid 8/10 experience. Recommended buy.

Unpolished Gem

I think it's obvious - this game should not be released in a shape in which it was in December 2020. I played it then and I decided to postpone my playthrough, because I believed in CDP, I believed that they will fix all the bugs and then they will work hard on improving all the unfinished stuff. And that's what happened. I've tried every single patch that CDPR released for this game. I wish they developed them quicker, but eventually after 1.5 Cyberpunk is finally in a shape which is enjoyable for me. Of course, there is still a lot to improve, but CDPR is on the right way to redemption. And I believe the best it yet to come for this game. After 1.5: Pros: + beautiful graphics + original and intriguing art direction + soundtrack + dialogues + main story + side quests + combat (thanks to hacks, character customization, different weapons and cyberwaves it is possible to have various fighting styles and also shooting is very enjoyable to me) + level design + simple but enjoyable crafting + satisfying character development Pros/cons: +/- optimization (was not acceptable at release, now it runs fine) +/- UI (after 1.5 is decent, but not perfect) +/- there are consequences of player's choices, but they are not presented clearly to the player, which often makes them hard to notice +/- some audio effects could be better and more diverse (car crashing sound is too loud and weird, NPC's car horns have always the same *beep* pattern instead of randomized, tires sounds could be more diverse on different surfaces and so on) Cons: - crowd AI (better in 1.5 but still not great) - police system - driving model (better in 1.5 but still not great) - lack of interactivity and minor activities in the city - lack of vehicle customization - still some rare and minor bugs Minor, very specific cons which irritate me: - cars change gears always at the same RPM which sounds odd - traffic lights almost always turn green when you approach them - not enough of parking spaces

Cyberpunk 2077 is a great game

Ignore all the bad reviews. Cyberpunk 2077 is a Brilliant game. The story was excellent and there is lots of weapons and side quests to keep you entertained. the city is vast and spacious with lots of details and lots of vehicles to drive aswell. the only thing I would say is needing some work is character customisation not as much with clothing and hair styles but the customisation of the face and body is very limited and small number of tattoo options which are preset. but other then that the story and game is excellent. but it should of been a hundred hours like the witcher 3. unfortunately people complained the witcher 3 was too long which is absolute rubbish.. so in my opinion if cyberpunk 2077 was bigger and longer it would be perfect. its easily become one of my favorite games this gen. It is true it was plagued with bugs on previous gen and pc when it was first released. but most of these bugs have been fixed up now. and Cd project are adding new content for free all the time. so whats not to like? excellent game and makes a change from all these boring online multiplayer battle royale games which oversaturate the gaming industry. Cyberpunk is purely a singleplayer experience which in my opinion most games should be these days. so if your an old school single player gamer who likes RPG'S then this game I would recommend. Absolutely without a Doubt. One of the best of this generation.... :):):)
