Cyberpunk 2077

At first I was defending the game, on PC it run perfectly, without much glitches. But 50 hrs into the game (where at least 20hrs was due to me forgetning to turn off the game over 3 nights) I decided to finish the main quest, and be done with it. The game is nothing but a sack of lies, where 70% of promised context is missing. The AI is so stupid, that once you have enough street credits and eddies, buy yourself legendary cyberdeck (I've done this after 5hrs of doing quests, side quests, and killing the gangs). Once you have legendary cyberdeck, you can finish the game on quickhacks alone! I played the gameon hardest difficulty, and only difficulty I had was during the initial 2hrs. Once I learned how to beat the gangs of 5+ people at once, the game is a breze. It doesnt even scale! I went on a hype train, told myself I work now, I can pay for games, no need to pirate games etc. I never throught I was wrong about that. This game is not even worth developer paying me. Waste of bandwidth. What hurst the most, is that if you quickhack, there is nothing that could stop you. Enemies don't have netrunners, don't utilize cameras etc. It... the game makes you dumb. Not that the game is dumb, it makes you dumb. Back to HOMM3.

I'll start off by saying that the game is by no means "bad", you can play it and have a good time. The combat feels good, and the graphics are amazing (once you manage to get settings that doesnt make the game look blurry/weird). But i could just not bring myself to play more than 3h, because the game lacked so many different features, both features were promised over and over again, but even basic stuff such as changing your appearance after the character creation. I doubt ill ever play this game again until CDPR actually, you know, delivers on what they promised, not all of it, but cmon, this is anything but acceptable. The most insulting part of the game is the AI. Civilian and Police AI is the absolute worst. Games like GTAV nailed it, this game fails horribly. The world is dead, nothing really happens unless you start blasting. I strongly recommend watching the video BeatEmUps did on the game, he doesnt talk about the bugs, he talks about the legit problems the game has. Give us the game that you guys showed and described in the 48 min gameplay footage you released in 2018. Thats the game we want, not this dead husk of broken dreams.

The first act is very enjoyable, the story kicks off quickly and you are drawn in. Sadly later on you notice that there are not so many decisions anymore, whose impact you feel during the game and not only as some minor alterations during the credits. The problem of the game is not bugs, which can be patched over time, but an immersion breaking shallow stage in which a quite linear story is set. You could write pages about missing little activities to do in the world, or how it is not possible to change your avatar in game, and all the tweaks this game would need in regard of useability. What is really annoying and upsetting over time are the reactions and AI of NPCs, police, by-standers and traffic. The AI is ridiculous! If Act1 had been released as Early Access I probably would have given 4 or even 5 stars. But even and especially as a fan of the future-noir setting I cannot rate the whole game with more than one star. It is sad to write this game off as a missed opportunity, as you can see in game hints of many features, story lines which have apparently been cut on release.

I like many believed that CDPR could if not delivar some of what they promised that they would atleast make a compelling game. The actual game devs who were involved clearly tried their hardest to bring to fruition what was constantly sold to the consumer by the marketing team, but no matter how much they tried the failed management and pressure of people who invested in this project shines through almost every aspect of this game. The story is lack luster and makes this game feel like they failed to understand that this is not a linear game but a "open world" (although that term lacks meaning with so much of this open world is dead, lifeless and [Open : Locked} doors) and the story needed to be paced better against the ability to go prat about doing anything else. Which brings us to the next point that other then shooting people there are NO other activities. This shows once again how much pressure the devs teams were under with mismanaged time. The characters you interect with (for very short quest lines) are marmite. Some people will love all, some will only like a few and others will just find them boring and will have no interest in coming back. Crafting is pointless unless you want iconic weapons or clothing you like (and if you do just wait till level 50 or the max you are willing to grind to before making it). Clothing is poorly implemented. Cars pointless. No accessories or extras. If you like basic loot and shoot games with an ok story and are willing to drop whatever the game is priced at then i doubt you care about this review. If you are on the fence or are expecting a truly amazing game or story - pass on this till a very deep sale and check reviews you trust for new content. However personally I would tell you to not touch this game because no matter how much other people want to believe I highly doubt CDPR will rewrite the game from the ground up to bring anything they promised that was cut. Expect bug fixed with possible paid dlc only.

For the action FPS with RPG elements it is, it gets 4 stars. For the dissappointment of not being the RPG it was supposed to be, it gets 0 stars. That equals out to 2 stars in total. I know CDPR said the rumors of a "no mans sky"-like revive are false, but god i hope it isn't. This game could (should?) have been an absolute benchmark in the gaming industry. Instead it's a less customizable GTA in a cyberpunk world.
