Supernatural Thriller
Interesting premise for a story. I enjoy the theme. Which is similar to SCP and Control.

Slow Burn, High Suspense, Fun on A Bun!
Don't go into this expecting something like the Silent Hill 2 remake; this is a very different beast. For one while it's not as scary but it is way more suspenseful & high stress. The enemies, Orphans, are inspired by Dead Space's Necromorphs but instead of adapting to limb loss, they absorb their dead to evolve into stronger variants. So after every fight there's a lingering sense of dread, because you know when you come through an arena again there might another encounter & those enemies will use the old ones to evolve. Unless you burn the bodies, which adds resource management because you might need the burning fuel to access a secret or the resources may be better spent on ammo or healing items. Gameplay wise it's a basic shooter at the core, no frills & reminds me of third person shooters before Gears Of War set the standard. It works & is fine, but I just wish there was some kind of dodge or dash! That's the one thing I wish Bloober brought over from the SH2 remake; the combat dodge. Without it combat can be more stressful than it needs to be. Bloober have done a bloody good job with Cronos, it's a unique beast & while it's not a, debatably, modern classic their SH2 remake it's more than deserving of a buy.

A solid, if standard, survival shooter
It's a fun time if you're looking for a new survival horror experience similar to Dead Space 1, but there are some caveats: 1. You're totally fine playing Dead Space 1 again, so long as (almost) everything except the mechanics are different. 2. You're not bothered by a fairly linear game that pretends to have exploration. 3. Playing a game that criminally under-uses the premise for any real interesting gameplay opportunities doesn't erode your sanity. Cronos is a visually intriguing, audibly unnerving, basic gameplay shade of survival horror-grey game you've seen since Dead Space 1. Mechanically, you'll find little different, except some very minor touches here and there for the better, and some rather annoying omissions for the worse. All told, the game is fun if you're looking for more of what you already like, and have no expectations for any mechanical inventiveness.

To much oldfashioned, but preety good
Expectation were middle, and Cronos easily riched that. Game is slow and thick with climate cream-like soup. Visually and sound-wise the game meets expectations as well. But I personally have problem with lvl. of difficulty and game mechanics. I see that Bloober wanted to make game like old RE with a touch of Dead Space, but this not this what people knowning BT have expected. They went too far, far too far! Almost every aspect of the game mechanics looks like it has been made to make you suffer. I like when on the start game is on medium level, a then new, more challenging levels unlocked. Cronos is going on differnt direction. Same story with inventory. You do really must manage this well at all time, sometimes even wasteing some resources, to free space. Crafting system slighty cheating you, not allowing to upgrade your inventory slotes or suit, even you have enough cores! Here I have to addmit, that cores are quite rare to find, so you suppsed to be rewarded if somehow, someway you found them in amount unexpected by the game . No. There is no rewards! And there is more of that, but this you must find by yourself, couse even i the light of all I sad game is still addictive and tempting you to go deeper and deeper. I know there will be a lot of people appreciate Cronos for been tough and no mercifull, saying words of his own pray - Hard game for petient players. I'm not buying this! instead of been tough as tough can be, game should loosen the reins a bit, while still remaining a demanding and more positioned versatile, including promising but quite empthy story line. Cronos is definetlly a game in category "only for fans". the average player, even an experienced one, but not necessarily a fan of this kind of atmosphere, will probably give up on this game.

A Pleasant Surprise
I honestly didn’t expect this game to be so good, especially since I was skeptical when it was first announced. The gameplay is engaging, and wise inventory management is a must. Combat sequences can be tough at times, especially if you go in unprepared. The graphics are impressive, and the sound design is phenomenal. If you’re looking for a game similar to the Resident Evil or Dead Space series, this one is definitely worth your attention. On the downside, there are some technical issues, like occasional stutters and frame drops. The game is demanding to run, but that’s no surprise considering it’s built on Unreal Engine 5. Thankfully, these issues aren’t severe enough to ruin the experience. In summary: I highly recommend giving Cronos: The New Dawn a try.
