Relaxing experience

I spent an embarrassing amount of time in this game and I can say I enjoy it. For me, it's something I do for an hour a day to pass time and get relaxed. Nothing exciting happens during that time, perhaps I dig a new floor, upgrade the pickaxes of several dwarfs, perhaps find a rune locked door, etc. For that purpose, I think it's perfect, but if you expect excitement and rapid progression and whatnot I feel like you should go for a game like Terarria or the space Terarria that I can't remember the real name of at the moment Final warning: If you play the campaign, the final/fourth world is a bit annoying until you get up to speed, and the occasional raids, at least for me, spiked in difficulty very suddenly. It's more annoying rather than an actual challenge.

Nice game, but really bad path finding

The game itselfe is relativly funny. its like a 2D wiggles with less humor but a bit more crafting. The real issue i have with this game is the AI. The dwarfs are so stupid theire often play more like lemmings falling to there death instead of jusing a path or fleeing in the elevator but than only go up one level an running in other enemies instead of just going up to savety. Same problem comes up if halfe death dwarfes decide to join fights or ignore portals and sometimes stopp moving if they get a healing potion or die in water they should even be in and could easy go out on themselfe. Besides these very present problems the digging and building part is quite nice.

German positiv: - Charakter und Objektgrösse angenehm, viel besser als in Terraria - gut gezeichnet - flüssiger Spielablauf selbst auf schwächeren Rechnern - die Spielidee gefällt mir verbesserungswürdig: - Die Steuerung der Zwerge ist nahezu Zwecklos, selbt mit den dafür vorgesehenen Zaubern, oft hilft nur noch der Button das sie das Haus nicht verlassen dürfen. - Kommen die Zwerge wegen zu starken Gegnern nicht mehr an ihren Sammelpunkt, ist das Spiel nicht mehr spielbar. - Es fehlt ein Spielziel. Sammeln, nur um mehr herzustellen ergibt keinen Sinn. - die Gegner sind nicht gerade Spassfördernd da man kaum Einfluss auf das Geschehen hat und bauliche Massnahmen kaum helfen. - Fehlen Grundressourcen wie Holz ist das Spiel nur noch "pain in the ass" Das Spiel hat mir zwei Level in der Kampagne Spass gemach und der Preis dafür war ok. English positiv: - charakter- and object-size is plesant, much better than in Terraria - well-drawn - smooth game flow even on weaker computers - I liked the idea of the game room for improvement: - The control of the dwarves is almost useless, even with the intended spells, often only the button that they are not allowed to leave the house helps. - If the dwarves cannot reach their rallying point because of too strong opponents, the game is no longer playable. - I am missing a gametarget. Clollecting just to equip your home is a bit too booring. - The opponents are not exactly fun, because you have hardly any influence on what is happening and structural measures not really help. - If basic resources like wood are missing, the game is only "pain in the ass". About two levels in the campaign I had some fun with the game and the price was ok for that

I keep returning to this game

I like it a lot. It's not without it's flaws, but it keeps luring me in. Devs keep adding cool features with each update, they even have some pretty neat DLCs. I'm a big fan of building base/survival games with indirect control, so yeah, it hits every right trigger. Though is wish crafting tree looked more like tree, not 4 lines, and armor looked more like armor sets, not just metal jackets over t-shirts. ANyways, solid 4/5 from me.

It's a great simple base-builder

One of my favourite games. Finished it a couple of times. Yes, there are some minor annoyances, but overall it's great. I really like base building with defense games.
