A very fun, fast-paced Horror Shooter
Venture into the "Covenant" estate in 1920s Ireland and fight hordes of supernatural and eldritch creatures in this fast-paced horror shooter with light gothic/noir elements Carve your way guns-blazing or through the use of arcane spells, or synergize for both! Explore the manor, learn about the eccentric family members, use your powers to observe the past & uncover the ancient mystery looming over the Covenant family. GOOD: -Fantastic character/art direction with solid atmosphere. -Fun & satisfying fast-paced combat that rewards careful management of the resources, positioning and exploiting enemy weaknesses. -Excellent level design with verticality and layers; tons of secrets, loot and power-ups hidden as a reward for those thorough enough. -Rich variety of enemies, locations, weapons and spells, as well as tons of optional journal entries and lore pieces that add to the story. -Great value for the amount of quality content and fun-factor, specially when on Sale. BAD: -From a Technical stand-point it is very rough, with some issues running on modern systems. -It is a bit too easy, even on "Nightmare" mode, and barely reaches 9hr of play-time. -Autosaves are not reliable, specially on long levels; remember to always manually save. -Advancing through the main path blocks you from going back and accessing optional areas that you might've missed, and it's sometimes very confusing to tell which path is optional and which one pushes you forward.
