Really Addicting
This is a single player card game with a very loose background story, and fairly simple randomly generated maps. Cards have various abilities that can synergize in fun creative ways. If you've played MTG, you know. There is no color specific mana to limit your card choice. There ARE two card costs, however: one that limits the number of cards you can play in a turn/battle, and one that limits the number of creatures you can play. They did a great job balancing the card abilities, creature strengths, and costs. You gain access to better cards with new mechanics as you progress through the game. Some thoughts for the Devs: - Rewards system needs fine tuning. I want access to lower tier cards when I'm looking for them, and higher tier cards when I'm not. The RNG seems to favor the new cards, making it a lot harder to access a key card or two for your build. - Traders are mostly worthless. Why would I want to trade a piece of mythic armor for a total junk card? - Rewards should scale better to the battle. - The healing moves do not heal for damage lost from previously boosted health, only the card's original health. As the game scales, it starts to favor against healing. Just have all the cards increase health from current. - WASD controls are janky. Also, there is a proximity trigger to start the battle that's too far from the enemy. In the Highmore Castle area, it becomes frustrating because it means your character will enter battle while on a trap, and teleport back to the start while you're battling. - The equipment doesn't scale with the game. This makes certain card choices favored at certain stages of the game. It limits creativity. - The cards are awesome, but I want more stuff to do! Put in a quest board or something. Two "kill quests" every other round is lame, and there were only 2 "collect quests" in my 24 hrs of play. Right now the only thing keeping me playing is the fun of trying to come up with card combos. Once I beat the game, why will I come back?
