Cannon Fodder

I had this game on the Amiga 500, I used to play it all the time. I never managed to complete it, probably due to my near obsession with keeping jools & Jops alive. Truely one of the best games ever made. Always wanted to play Cannon Fodder II but we could never get it to run on the computer, a PII iirc. Get this game and you will not be dissappointed.

I used to play this when I was a teenager and boy, was this game fun! Well, the good news is that the game didn't lose any part of that fun and has stayed exactly as it was back then - so if you already played it 20 years ago, get it outright; if you haven't and thus don't know it, what you're still waiting for?!? Also, for those saying that is runs about twice as fast than it used to: I didn't experience that at all, it's just the mouse which is moving (a lot) faster but that can be safely amended by tuning down one's mouse sensitivity - works perfectly fine for me.

I don't have nostalgia for all of these older games on GOG, though I do know some of them. For me, it is fun to grab some older games at a decent price and just see how far gaming has come in my lifetime. So for me it is a fun mix of modern games and some of these older ones sprinkled in. This one seems pretty crazy and fun. We'll have to see how far I get based on some of the reviews I read, but I am not a completionist. Playing Might & Magic I was a great experience, but I did not feel I needed to play the whole thing.

Cannon Fodder is a magnificent living memory of when games were about fun. Written by the fantastic Sensible Software, you'll be commanding a list of 360 soldiers and hoping you don't end up with 360 graves. You'll dive into lush forests, freezing wastes and a few other territories and get placed into impossible scenarios against several enemies. This is a very pick-up and play game, the controls are easy to get to grips with and you'll be marching in no time. It's also quite moving, something that can really put a tear in your eye when you see the graves on that hill... But anyway - go and have fun in this addictive, action filled arcade piece of action!

I smashed my first mouse on this one, second one went down on Diablo, i.e. the game is epic! :D
