Brilliant

Less than £10 for all 3 Brothers In Arms games? You'd be mad not to put your money down straight away. These are unlike most WWII FPS games, you aren't the super hero who single-handedly wins the war for the allies. Instead you have to lead a squad composed of an assault and support teams that you direct to attack objectives. How you do that is up to you but following the maxim of "Fix, Flank, Finish" will generally stand you in good stead - get your support team to fix an opponent (the game uses a suppression technique where the enemy has an indicating wheel above their heads - fill up the wheel by attacking them and they stop firing at you for a while as they hunker down to avoid getting killed by your withering attack), get your assault team to flank the enemy and then finish the opponent off with an assault. While this is happening you are still playing an FPS so you can move about however you want - you can help the support team to fix an enemy with covering fire or you can move with your assault squad or, if you want to play the hero, you can hit the enemy on your own and have your team just act as back up. Controls are the usual FPS fare (using iron sights will give you better accuracy) and you can use the usual WWII US army weapons (Garand, BAR, etc) and you can pick up enemy weapons (KAR, MP40, etc) as you go along. The best thing about this series is the fact that you can't help but want to keep all your squad alive - and if you're not careful you WILL lose people). I replayed so many chapters in this game purely because I lost a single guy in a play through and couldn't stand the thought of playing further without them. You have to buy these games, they are the best single player WWII FPS games on the market, even 10 years after their release.

Raw and realistic

No boss fights, no upgrades, no skill tree. No cool guys either. This is a pure story driven FPS that want to show war. Both on the gameplay, that will punish you very hard if you act hero and in the cutscenes. All the humanity of the characters, their limits, their grudge, their emotional rise and downfall are shown, in a game that doesn't offer any "prize". It only want to tell a war story. And in this, the trilogy is unique. My only complain is the availability of ammo, I found unrealistic that the character can carry 20 extra clips for each weapons. I never had the need to switch the guns during the mission. You may like or you may not for thousand of reasons, but the sure thing is: there's no other war games like this.

Tactical fun.

I've played all the brothers in arms games and this is asolid entry. If you didn't like the tactical aspect of the previous games then this title won't change your mind. If you did, then you're in for a treat. The maps are smartly done. The graphics are decent for the time. The music is excellent and the narrative is really interesting. There are cutscenes as others have said, but they are well-presented and emotionally charged. As someone who appreciates context for the human aspect of the war, the scenes deliver. The ending is a bit weak but the ride there is a blast. A few bugs, some graphical weirdness but nothing gamebreaking for me. I have no idea what the multiplayer is like. If you find the game is too easy, try challenging yourself by keeping all members of your teams alive. Then try it on authentic after you beat it. 8.5/10.

Easier than the previous two

Another good implementation of the Four Fs (find'em, fix'em, flank'em and finish'em) concept. This time a lot less frustrating (no mortar squads at all to face) and overall with a more arcade feel (now you can easily snipe an enemy from behind cover, something that with the previous games was almost impossible to achieve). (Still, even on Easy, you won't be able to simply walk to your enemies and kill them, your squad is required to keep them busy while you attempt to flank them). Graphics are pretty good for a 2008 game, too. The only flaw is the plot - I still cannot say I understood (some of) it at all, or really cared. But honestly, do you really care about plot in a game like this? Maybe you do, and it would have been nice to have. I really do not understand the complaints about the cutscenes - they're not that long. Definitely recommended.
