Choose between incendiary bombs, sticky grenades, homing missiles, and more to suit your situation.

Development

Developer Comment

For Bright Memory: Infinite, I wanted to focus on adding content to give players a more satisfying experience. As a result, development took three times as long as Bright Memory. This process allowed me to learn how to create a strong game while dealing with time and financial constraints. I spent a lot of time thinking of ways to maximize whatever technology and resources available to me in order to deliver an unforgettable experience through the game. As such, Bright Memory: Infinite represents the culmination of FYQD Studio's growth. Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to all my global partners and those who have provided technical support to me.

Short but sweet DMC meets Crysis

Bright Memory Infinite is an indie first person shooter/brawler hybrid that's an expanded and improved version of one man's passion project. The action is intense and the production values are AAA-quality, but it's noticeably short (meant to be played multiple times at higher difficulties). The premise is you're a government agent for China's supernatural investigation agency called out of your vacation because a frigging black hole opened up over the countryside and medieval warriors and monsters are pouring out. From there things get sillier and sillier. The combat, while first person, hews closer to a Devil May Cry game than a modern shooter. The combat systems have you juggling between using your (up to four) guns and the sword and crazy movement abilities provided by your powered exoskeleton. Shooting guns speeds up power charge for your exosuit, pulling off a perfect block with your exosword instantly reloads your guns. Regular reload times are obnoxiously long so the game really encourages and rewards getting right up in enemies' faces juggling superpunches with autoshotgun blasts to the face. The biggest downside to the game is its length. About 2 hours start-to-finish with the ability to play new game + on higher difficulties with all your unlocked weapons and powers. There's also a mediocre stealth section and a first-person driving/shooting section, but those are both mercifully short. On a personal level, I'm disappointed they no longer have a DMC-style combo gauge in the corner like they did in Episode 1, only an overall rank at the end of a full run. It's like a better verson of modern Shadow Warrior, I just wish there were more of it.

Fun-ish, buggy, short, and incoherent

I *like* the idea of a fast/stylish shooter/slasher, but this game isn't really it. Considering that I bought the original for $10 and got this version for free, I got my money's worth, but... -The boss fights are horrible -Gameplay is fun otherwise until you get tired of doing the same run-n-gun down a corridor or arena -The short stealth and driving sections are really bad and ruin the momentum -You sometimes respawn after dying in a mob, or right by the edge of a cliff -Sometimes crashes (especially on the plane wing fight) -Grapple hook bugs out sometimes, bad on the plane wing fight -Obvious coding issues, like a cutscene continuing after (?) you die and fade to black -Would've been better without ANY plot. What little there is...is really, really, really bad, to the point that it's distracting. -The dialog sounds like it was written procedurally by someone who didn't read the script -Really short (less than 2 hours) -The DLC is just skimpy clothing (higher cost for less clothing) TL;DR there are good ideas here gameplay wise but they're marred by some really annoying bugs, design choices, writing, and so on, and the game never does anything with them beyond what you see in the first ten minutes.

What Shadow Warrior 3 tried to be

This game reminds me of a classic Call of Duty game's campaign with setups for cool gameplay moments that are only half scripted. As a minor spoiler at one point you are launched over a boat and the game slows down time for you to deal with it. Shooting it in slow mo with dragon's breath and watching it explode, a sublime and classic experience. The game seems to subtly shift the camera in many high speed movement sections on it's own preventing you from thinking somewhere was the right way to go or not knowing where the next platform is *cough* Shadow Warrior 3 *cough*. I liked that camera shifting a lot. Sure this game is short but it's fun. Which powers you use doesn't really matter, it's all flavor. Just distribute your upgrade points however, I suggest evenly. My biggest complaint is charge up powers take WAY too long to charge to the point they are unfeasible in combat, that said often uncharged they one hit elite foes so... The DLC skins add a nice touch of wacky/sexy but ultimatley it's just cool to have gun and sword skins if nothing else $5 or $6 to an Indie Dev for some skins in the Gold Version over Standard is no biggie to me. This game definitely shares elements of many of the popular movement shooters these days but it is much easier/more forgiving even on hard difficulty. That said it needs some help with respawns, please do not respawn me in front of a moving sword thank you. And lord help you if you don't learn to parry or learn boss patterns. You can parry a boss, and you should. There is a forced stealth section (technically I went Michael Meyers at the end so you don't auto fail it if you get caught) and I actually was thinking right before it the game could benefit from an option to use stealth before combat encounters. The game just feels right for it. That's the biggest missed opportunity I see. OPTIONAL stealth for the whole game. Tips: The pistol's alt fire is a greanade launcher. Use it coupiously. Most alt fires provide knockback.

Great game in par with AAA game

Great game you have AAA title gameplay, and graphic from a small studio. I did not pay for the game as I bought the early acces of Bright Memory. Some change between the game but the same good gameplay is in the game. Haven't finished the game yet but the story seem pretty decent up to now will update when I finish the story. The game is worth your time and money.
