The wait was worth it...!

Okay, reading the available reviews made me wonder, if I bought kinda different game. The only performance related issue I got was a sometimes stuttering sound, which doesn´t annoy me much. Graphics ingame are fantastic (I play everything at max level), which also applies for the voice acting. I have to confess; I am a long term BattleTech fan, so i actually like puzzling how a mission is to be solved the fastest way. Also trying to find out the best setup for a mech is quite fun to me, especially, if you have to keep an eye on the units funds at the same time. Keeping this merc unit up and running feels to me exactly, as I always imagined back in the time, when I read all the BattleTech novels. Also, I can´t agree with some of the review´s concerning "bad storytelling and spoiling". Oh, you get to know right in the beginning, that you are the merc, that brought a certain lady back to the throne? Oh my, BIG surprise. I for my part, wouldn´t be surprised to that at all, its always how those stories end. But finding out, how exactly a small merc unit managed to do that is what puzzles me. So, Harebraid: Thumbs up, the wait was worth it. Now just keep on patching the game in order to reduce the troubles which some players seem to have and you´ll have a go. I really like what you did!

Great Battletech Experience!

Wanted to throw my two cents in, about 6 hours into the game. I felt compelled to comment after seeing some of the reviews complain that the game is slow... that's true, but it's better to think of it as deliberate. So far it's great - exactly what I was looking for from a Battletech game. The strategic game is exactly what I was looking for - tough decisions about how to equip mechs while still paying for your merc company. Minor nits include long load times, occasional audio bugs (save and quit to desktop to end it), and painfully slow "zoom in" camera after every action turned on by default, but that will be patched soon or can be easily adjusted in settings. (It's release week now.)

Not good.

Pretty average (at best) turn-based strategy game with very limited unit customisation (especially considering the setting) and very limited rpg elements. Story mode has a lot of long feature missions which are good for the first play but increasingly frustrating/boring during subsequent playthroughs. The lore, universe and characters unfortunately go beyond the original, rich and realistically diverse setting of Battletech and straight into SJW territory. Devs are not worth supporting and have a long list of other titles which range from the half-assed to the entirely abandoned. I wish I could refund this title.

Tactical masterpiece

I have decided to share my opinion with You after 120h of gameplay. I am giving Battletech 5/5 note, because I think it is a great tactical and management game. Tactical on the battle map - where your mechs positioning and actions are most important, and management in-between battles, where you repair and refit your mechs. Management part is especially fun given the abundance of weapons and chassis types - almost like it's a game inside a game. +++ Gameplay +++ Music (orchestrated!) +++ Graphics This game has a great replayability value, because after you finish the campaign there is a scored career mode. There are various reviews for Battletech - but I bought it 2 years after premiere and in it's current state it is clearly a 5/5 game for me. I HIGHLY RECOMMENDED IT!

Not Good

I finally got around to playing this, and was excited. However, after playing it for a few hours and setting it to the easiest settings the game offered, I couldn't progress. If you like a game where you have to play the same mission 5+ times to get it, sure you might like it. I personally don't enjoy replaying the same thing over and over because the difficulty curve is off the charts. I get that some people love hard games, thats not me. I always play on the easiest setting unless there is a real incentive to increase. I spent time on reddit and other sites trying out there suggested strategies, and nothing worked, with many responses "its really easy". To that I say, no, its not. If being outgunned and outnumbered where your hits always miss, and you seem to take the worst result of being always hit regardless of what you, then yeah you might like this. I cannot reccomend this game on the difficulty alone. Can't say for the accuracy of the tabletop rules to PC, I haven't played the minature game in almost 20 years, and can't find ayone interested in it. So I can't speak to that. The graphics and animation are fine, even if the cut scenes are lazy still panels. The voice acting when it does show up is decent, and the story is about what you'd expect. Heck, if the difficulty of this game was better, then I could easily give it a 3.5 or 4.
