Beamdog has proven they can continue the Baldur's Gate story. In doing so, they replicate the antiquated nature of the Baldur's Gate games.

New journey, old friends. I don’t know what possessed Beamdog to make Siege of Dragonspear an expansion to the original game, nor do I know what devil’s pact coerced them into making it thirty-odd hours long. It’s insanity.

Baldur’s Gate: Siege of Dragonspear fills in some of what happens to the Child of Bhaal between saving Baldur’s Gate and saving your soul from Irenicus, and it’s a hoot to revisit this world, using the old D&D rules from the 1990s.
But Siege of Dragonspear hints at more — a studio that’s done with just enhancing older games and ready to carve out a place among the top storytellers in the RPG sector. Beamdog’s first effort at original storytelling is a good start, and I’m excited to see more in the future, even if it’s in the world of Baldur’s Gate.

Siege of Social Justice Warriors
The name of the game should be Siege of Social Justice Warriors: Shadows of LGBTQ. You DO NOT make games to ideologically brainwash people but to give people some FUN, for people to relax, rest a little and forget for a moment all these ideological clashes that we have to live with. Enough already. Go bother someone else and LEAVE OUR CLASSICS ALONE!

Buggy game with a political agenda...
The game is extremely buggy. I'm not talking small bugs - it's nearly unplayable at times. If you want to brave these bugs then get ready to save a load a LOT. You better have a lot of backup saves. Multiplayer does not function at all. They included all kinds of SJW content into the game and changed the personalities of characters from the original game to better suit their political agenda. If you're an old time fan of Baldur's Gate like I am, then you should skip this game. We all want another great game like Baldur's Gate, but this one is not what we've been waiting for.

A worthy addition to Baldur's Gate
Yes, it can be said that there are still some bugs to work out, as is the case with many game, particularly when they're building new additions onto a 20 year old title. That being said, if you enjoyed Baldur's Gate, and how could you not as it remains one of the best RPGs ever made, then you will enjoy this expansion for it. The storyline is great, and there is a lot to do even in this short expansion pack.
