Terrible combat system

What kills the game for me is the terrible combat system (realtime with pause) which plays pretty much like Warcraft. Unfortunately the AI is braindead and has your party members running brainlessly into traps and mages into suicide by trying to melee heavy hitting enemies. You give your party members orders, which they briefly follow before doing something stupid. You're going to be smashing the pause button every couple of seconds to micromanage your dummies anyway, so why WHY realtime??? The ONLY way to go with party based RPGs is turn based. Luckily Baldur's Gate 3 is made by competent developers who realized that making BG 3 the ONLY part of the series to recommend. D & D early levels are a nightmare, especially if you are a spellcaster which cannot fight and only have two or three spells before they need rest (and they won't be doing enough damage to end the combat encounter with those few spells). That limits your choices of classes you can select. Coupled with the horrible combat system playing this game on anything but story mode is annoying as hell.

Hype pile.

Never played this game bef. Got it a few days back, and I've been more entertained by the D&D movie, although Wayan's character make it even more lame. Should've stayed away. Sacred, Dungeon Siege 1, Divine Divinity & others have entertained me more. Like when you are a DJ in a radio station, and you get paid to play a song continually to create hype, which in other words doesn't mean the song is good. This is that song, not a........................... what was I writing about? Sorry, forgot..................... Ah, an already forgotten game.

Old Fallouts not worst Classic RPGs

Imagine starting game by creating character from scratch before knowing what will await you there, at least somewhere Fallout devs was good, by giving you presets to start game without wasting time in character creation.

Love is blind... but not every player is

The only value this game possesses nowadays is sentimental value. I understand those who have fallen in love with it in the nineties, when there was nothing better. But now everything is better. Classic Angry Birds are better; they offer more tension(!), more colourful characters and better dialogues. Well, I might have exaggerated with the latter, but most importantly, Baldur's Gate visuals can only be regarded as laughable in 2023. My wizard casting spells looked like pixels shooting pixels at other pixels. Character creator is awful. You will not create a casting character without deep knowledge of the (old) rule book or without copying ready builds prepared by fans online. It's not what I call creating Your character. The tutorial is so boring I wanted to kill myself. It is not impossible that I have actually killed myself. So if you do not want the same happening to you, please, watch some walkthrough clips online, before you start the game. If you can live with those graphics... fine.. you have been warned.
