This game rocks!
I had this game for my Amiga back in the mid 90's. I played the crap out of it. It’s got beautiful graphics and sound that held up well after a decade and a half. A few days ago I let my 14-year-old son (Playstation 3 generation) play this and he was hooked for hours. That says something about the longevity and quality of this game.

20th Anniversary Edition is available
I've bought dozens of games from gog. However, $10 on here seems steep when the 20th Anniversary Edition of this game is on Steam for the same price. The new version has HD and has remastered sound & FX, and takes up a whopping 3GB on your hdd.

The best edition hands-down!
I happen to own a physical copy of this one. The new graphics are superb, the soundtrack is excellent, and the extras... oh man, the extras are unbelievable. Chahi even mentions being influenced by Dragon Ball when creating the game!

3 star only for the overall design....
unfortunately, some games ages pretty bad and Another world is one of them, maybe even a primary example of it. It offers unique ( at least for its time) gameplay that rewards the memorization of enemies and traps patterns over.. well, fun. Basically it put memory over skill, and if that has gone well in the past since it was a unique experience, in today's standards it's simply horrible. On the other hand, the method used to tell the story, art, and overall design is truly amazing and it stimulates you to complete it, but even that can't stop the frustration and boredom. However, still worth it to check it out as one of the videogame history masterpieces (for its time), at least to experience the feeling to be stranded in an alien world (the game doesn't tell you anything, which is actually good for the story in general). On the side note, it is worth to buy it just to see how far this industry has evolved.
