I'd definitely buy Amid Evil 2
The game can bring a real challenge to a player with many types of enemies and each being more vulnerable to different types of weapons based on mana they use makes the weapons all have their uses though I don't find myself using the axe that much. The level design along with the music is something I really love about this game. I have not totally beaten the game yet as I play a couple stages to 1 level in sitting. It feels casual while being reminicent to those old shooter days where we were sweaty try hards. While its easy to just sit back and shoot enemies from a distance that ain't part of the fun. It is the fast movement trying to get enemies to kill eachother while bouncing around shooting flailing like a moron. I do wish there was b-hopping or some way of acheiving high speeds as well as better "rocket" jumping. Still very worth the money

Outstanding
This game is inspired by some of the best old school fps, like heretic, hexen, and quake. But it stands above them in some ways, it also has its style. Unless you hate old school fps games buy it.

The geatest journey I've been through
I'm not a fan of fantasy. The concept of magic always seemed like laziness to me. This game cannot be any further than that even if it tried. I can only remember two other games in which I had such an epic experience, and those are Bungie's Marathon trilogy and Valve's Half Life 2. Twisting walkways. Maze-like corridors. Sprawling levels. And secrets so well hidden that your chances of finding some of them are next to nothing. Every weapon feels unique enough that some of them I highly doubt I'll find anything like in any other game ever. There's a lightning gun that can overload enemies if you focus on one until it explodes, sending out arcs of lightning killing several nearby enemies. And then there's the one that shoots PLANETS. The power-up mechanic in this game is called Soul Mode, which does more than just double the damage you do; it changes the weapons so that they fire differently. That planet-shooter I talked about earlier? In Soul Mode, it shoots STARS. There is one boss fight for each set of levels. On Hard difficulty, these bosses pose a significant enough challenge that i dies to each of them at least a couple times, but I never felt that they were bullshit level difficult. GOG's review character limit sadly prevents me writing about the variety of enemies. There's much to say about them. There's so much in this game, and every set of levels is so unique, that I haven't even gotten through half of it yet and I already feel like I've played several different games . It's a $20 package that gets you an amount of content that can easily span 3 or more whole $60 games according to the standards of this decade's AAA games industry - I feel like I bought an entire franchise of games for a massive discount. The only thing I can fault this game for is being so good that I do not want to play any other game or even go back to real life ever again. It's perfect in my book. Also, if you don't play this game on Hard mode, you're doing it wrong.

One of the best games I have ever played
I'm not gonna kid you, Amid Evil is one of the best games I've ever played. Yes it's an homage to the fast-paced nostalgia FPS' of the 90s, but the quality of the game as an entity of its own cannot be overstated. The level architecture is high-polygon, but the textures are essentially pixel-art, creating this incredible hybrid of styles that, when subjected to the quality of modern U4 post-processing and lighting, looks absolutely stunning. The level architecture is inspired and mind bendind. Each world has its own distinct, atmospheric aesethetic that will always remind you of something else, but remain completely unique. There is a sense of alienness to everyting, and yet it all remains entirely believable within the universe of the game. This is in no small part due to the feeling that there was a desire to create levels in which no moment feels rehashed or re[eated. My only criticism would be towards the AI, which is invariable a bum-rush, but it is true to the style of the classics, so not even that can stop me from, and I don't say this lightly, declaring this to be a perfect game. It is one of the few titles that I have ever been able to say is worth every single cent you invest in it. Do it.
