When I start the game, the screen in black.
If I minimize the game and pull it back up, it is in windowed mode and running fine, but I can't expand the size of the window.

Is there any way to get it to run properly in full screen?

Never mind, I found the solution in a Dragon Sphere thread

Just so we can document it here for anyone else looking for the answer, use Alt enter to switch between full screen and window mode. It's a toggle, so you can switch back and forth by repeating Alt enter. Happy Hunting!

For me, getting past the blackscreen, was making sure you set a port for music. When I chose soundblaster instead of MIDI, I noticed non of the ports were selected. I selected 220, then finished the rest and the game launched perfectly. No more blackscreen.
