So I bought the entire Ys series on here. But I can't find which button does the save. I can't find it on the internet either. WHAT IS IT?

Opened up Ys 1, started to play it... voila... can't find how to save. pushed every button... V opens inventory, Z and X speed through dialogue and exit/choose. There was one other button, but can't remember which one, it does LOAD GAME.

I know there are statues to save in Ys: Oath in Felghana or something...

I really don't want to play through the beginning of Ys 1 five more times.

Thank you.

You save in the first two Ys titles by going to the menu (default key Esc), then selecting 'FILES' (1st option), then 'SAVE' and, finally, selecting the slot you wish to save to.

Though it is a bit more cumbersome to save this way than it is in Oath in Felghana/Ark of Napishtim/Origin (Goddess Statues/Monuments), at least you can save anywhere, any time you like. And, this should go without saying, you *really* should take advantage of it, saving as often as possible, as these are some hard games and, should you get too confident, you risk losing all your progress.

I hope this helped, happy gaming, enjoy these awesome games!

I'm pretty sure this method works, I'm unaware of any other, but let me know as soon as you try it out. :D

Also, no need to build any kind of shrine to my supposed awesomeness, I'm just trying to help a fellow Ys fan out, and trust me when I say these older Ys titles can be frustrating, be it due to mechanics like saving or to the sheer difficulty of the games themselves (well, on Normal and harder, at least, as they tend to be quite... easy on Easy and Very Easy).
Incidentally, Ys III: Wanderers of Ys also used this method for saving. (That is one of the many reasons I consider Oath in Felghana to be a different game rather than a remake of WoY.)
