The title says it all. This first happened the second time I started up the game. Whenever I attack enemies, they don't die or disappear, their bodies just sort of stand there.

The worst part is that they can still hurt me if I run into them. I've adjusting all the settings just to see if it would do anything, but nothing yet.

Any suggestions or advice would be great. I want to love this game!

I'm having the same issue and I don't know how to fix it outside of reinstalling the game which I don't even know if that would fix it.
Any solution to this? I really don't want to have to uninstall and reinstall just to fix this issue.
Woah, I just got home from work, turned on the game and got the same glitch. It's like they updated everyone's game to be broken. And to think I actually spent 40 bucks on this. Serves me right for trusting hipsters.
I got the same bug and uninstalling and reinstalling did not work

Yup just did that as well and the game continues to be unplayable.
For some reason it works on my other computer, so at least the girlfriend can enjoy it... I'm happy for her :(
I'm experiencing this issue as well. According to the game logs I think it has something to do with how they're trying to use the Galaxy API to track stats on minion kills. Closing the Galaxy client, using totally fresh profiles / saves, and reinstalling hasn't worked for me. This is pure speculation, but it seems like there may be some data stored by the game / Galaxy in a place I'm unaware of (possibly online) that's breaking things.
Yup, it is something to do with the GOG galaxy tracking thing, or it seems to be. I installed it on my first PC and it worked fine, though on my second one it wasnt working at all. Not tracking quillies being picked up and animations messing up when killing enemies or picking up pagies.

The good news is I found a fix for me. Try it and reply if it works!

1. Uninstalled GOG Galaxy & Yooka Laylee.
2. Deleted the save data by typing "run" into the start menu and "%appdata%" into the run window. I then went back a folder and entered the "LocalLow" folder. I deleted the "Playtonic Ltd" folder.
3. I reinstalled yooka Laylee through gog.com, not GOG galaxy. Bare in mind it's a 3-part download.

Seemed to work after that.

This worked! It seems as though the Galaxy client is the root cause.

Thank you everyone for your help, now go enjoy the game!
To add to this, if you try reinstalling GOG Galaxy afterwards, the problem returns. For me, I can't have GOG Galaxy installed at all even after Yooka Laylee is installed via the gog.com download files.
I love how this was marked "Solved" despite it's clearly not. Wish I could refund, but I'll just wait on the patch I guess. If that ever happens.
Heya.

I can confirm the bug. My game was flawed after a crash, some time after catching the 52nd pagie. Updating on GoG Galaxy beta branch to get version 1.2.5 didn't help. Updating to the official/final v1.2.6 didn't help either. Uninstalling the game, uninstalling Galaxy and reinstalling Yooka-Laylee from scratch via GoG non-Galaxy links worked - with the same savegame.

Dear developers, both GoG and Playtonic: That has to be fixed!

Best regards,
Raff

For anyone having this problem.

Simply signing out of GOG Galaxy works. No need for any uninstalling! You can even use the "Play" button inside Galaxy to start the game, you just need to be logged out of your account (using the menu with your account name).

Nope. I had to remove GOG Galaxy completely. Not signing in or not running GOG Galaxy at all made no difference even with starting a completely new game.
