I've been noticing that when I collect butterflies, my health doesn't recover at all. I first started to see this happen around the time I got the "Baller" tonic, and switched to it from the "Wellster" tonic. I've tried restarting the game, and changing tonics, but I haven't been able to make the issue go away. Is anyone else experiencing this? My Mac is using OSX 10.12.4.

butterflies can do 2 things
they restore your health or stamina depending on how you collect them ;)

when you run through them you get stamina back
when you eat them (tongue move) you get your health back
