Before I begin, Id like to say that I played this game for the first time this weekend and I had pretty low expectations.

Anyways, I just finished the game tonight and really enjoyed it. I am probably the only one to think this, but XIII reminds me of Goldeneye for the N64. While not quite as good, the single player has that stealth or action vibe in the way you can do each level (except the levels that make you play stealth). The game controls well, the music is great, and the game has an awesome presentation. I did enjoy the stealth levels where you sneak around, even though the AI is pretty stupid at spotting you. The game could have used quick saves/loads, but then again the levels are short enough (BUT you are forced to watch some cutscenes at some parts). The mechanics of the game play could have been better, but other than that, I have no problems.

The multiplayer is fun, although pretty barebones. I do like the mode where you chase the singing grim reaper.

Would I recommend this game to a friend? Absolutely. Its not the best shooter around by far, but for six dollars for a spy shooter you cant go wrong.

Edit: I also forgot to mention that there was a bug that made it so I couldnt pick up some enemies to move them. Was pretty frustrating when I couldnt pick up an objective's body at the end of the game.

Anyways, I created this thread so that people who had just finished the game for the first time can post their afterthoughts.

Not a bug. I'd say it's that the user interface is inconsistent. You have to have fists or a 1-handed weapon equipped. Nevermind that you can climb ladders while firing an assault rifle, or picking up chairs and things will automatically work regardless of what's in your hands.

Overall, fun. Most of my frustrations relate to the checkpoint system (repeating sections I've already aced five times just so I can get back to the part I screwed up. Also, checkpoints just before unskippable cutscenes).

Not enough games include throwing knives, alongside a reason to actually use them. And I think I had more fun with the improvised weapons than with any of the guns. Jagged shard of glass to the eye ftw.
