Hey group in X-com Long War how do I approve my air game as it is where I and the game itself are the weakest.

I would remind you that the name of the mod is the clue: Long is not an understatement. I have been struggling with the mod, and especially the air warfare, for a while now. I can report that there are improvements that can be unlocked with research that opens options in the foundry (after it is built, obviously) to help make the aircraft more effective and less fragile in combat. It just takes a looooooooong time to progress through the many, many missions (I did 7 UFO intercepts, 3 escaped,, 7 normal missions and three council requests, I think, last month. With fatigue, I had a real menpower crunch. with a roster of 50 and one or two each in psionics or gene therapy, and three or more injured —— I even completed a mission without a medic because all the available soldiers were either injured, resting, or on a covert mission!)

For instance, I just purchased an upgrade to the aircraft armour ($400, so the lion's share of a month's income) and there are numerous other upgrades, all quite pricey, for the planes.

I haven't finished the playthrough yet but I can notice some progress. I have also restarted the game twice, once from scratch, because I had made a strategic miscalculation and my base was unbalanced. (I had run out of room to build satellite dishes!) Also be abstemious with your resources. Another reason I restarted was because I had sold off what I thought were junk tech items (surgery suites, for instance) that in fact are necessary for advanced research in the later stages of the game (in this instance, to invent better healing tools).

Anyway, I may have little advice and it may seem next to useless but the game seems to be comprehensively planned and intricately paced. So keep at it. :)
