I have been playing this game (Enemy Within/no mods) on a computer with integrated graphics; it's what I have to work with. The pre-rendered cutscenes stutter, but other than that I didn't encounter any issues until the Alien Base Assault mission. Here, I can "Launch Mission," and I see a cutscene with my soldiers landing and looking at some suspicious pods, then the game stalls. An empty pop-up appears with no text in it except an unclickable button that says "OK." It is possible to scroll the map by moving the mouse, but the game accepts no other input. I have to kill the game process to exit. I tried ignoring the Alien Base Assault and playing another mission, and that part of the game is still working. But this mission is required to advance the game, and it just won't start.

The computer is Windows 10 with 1.7 giga-Hz processor, 4 GB ram, integrated graphics (Radeon HD), and about 300 GB unused on the hard drive. It is obviously an iffy proposition to play this game, but it was working until that point. Any ideas on getting it to play? I already tried setting it to run in Administrator mode and Windows 8 compatibility mode. I also tried using Galaxy to run the Repair Installation feature. It did download some files, but nothing changed. I only have two save-game files total, and all the graphics settings are on "Low." I am currently completely reinstalling the game, but I am not very hopeful that it will work. Let me know if you have any ideas! Would love to finish this game.
