Have WOTC GOG and installed about 6 mods including the Manual Rotation mod. All worked fine.

So a little later I went all out and installed about 20 extra mods that all worked fine in the Steam version. I did all the manual renaming and config file changes.

But now some of the first mods have just stopped working such as the Rotation mod. Some of the clothing mods have just `poofed` vanished.

I removed all the new mods except the original few and they still won`t work! I don`t get it. They all worked together in the Steam version. It looks like something has overidden or even deleted many of my first mods. i`ve been at it all day yesterday and this morning. I`m running fast out of ideas.

Does Anyone have any idea what`s going on?

I am afraid that I cannot offer you a "quick fix".

However, when I encountered not really similar, but related, problems, I deleted the mod- folder and started by redoing my mods one by one so I could filter out the "bad apples"

Oh, and turn off the "cloud saving"-feature that gog offers, should you have enabled it - sometimes the "expectations" of your cloud saves cannot be met when you change something in the ini.files and thus things don't work and chaos ensues.

Strangest thing... Mods still won`t work. Am I gonna have reinstall the entire game?

I hate it when something doesn`t work for what appears to be no reason, when before it worked.

Users are generally seeing the mods not working problem after updating the game with the latest update. So, check if you recently installed any update then uninstall the update or reinstall the game or clear the cache of Steam download.
Hope these tricks fir you to fix mods not working problem with your game.

found an error. My problem was in
\\XCOM 2\XCom2-WarOfTheChosen\XComGame\Config\DefaultModOptions.ini

it should look like this

[Engine.XComModOptions]
ActiveMods="X2WOTCCommunityHighlander"
ActiveMods="DetailedSoldierListWOTC"

was using vortex (nexus) to install mods initially. For some reason mods wasn't enabled
