I'm following a text guide and a map guide and I can't seem to get her to spawn in the area at the end of Trechier Woods. Is it just a missable encounter/item?

I found that you can sometimes get items she should have offered in other zone if she failed to spawn there, by having her spawn elsewhere. Try getting her to spawn in a different zone and she might offer you the knife, if you were still wondering.
