Hi, new to the X series here!

Everytime I launch X:Beyond the Frontier, I am greeted with the Egosoft logo animation distorted by what's clearly a broken 3D animation engine, with only one letter being visible at best. The game usually closes itself afterwards. This keeps happening even when I turn of "User configurations" as advised.

What can be done about it?

Okay, but I don't know what to do with the information. ;(

There was at least a mention of how the game MUST be run in a 4:3 resolution. Good start. Also you should install this if you like to play older games: https://www.techpowerup.com/download/visual-c-redistributable-runtime-package-all-in-one/
