When I try to start the game it says "AMD driver 17.9.1 or newer required!" and do nothing. I check my drivers and are the latest ones:18.10.1 I apply a Windows DDU to remove the old drivers completely, dowloaded fresh ones but to no avail. I get the same message "AMD driver 17.9.1 or newer required!"...
My computer is capable of running this game (i7 with 16gb RAM) and my card is Vulkan capable (Radeon R9 M295X). Any help or ideas?

Thanks!
Those are my specs and the error message:

So I have Vulkan... it´s kind of sad, it´s the first time I bought a game on preorder. A leason learned the hard way, NEVER AGAIN.

Checking for latest drivers on AMD's site, the R9 M295X got a driver update on the 29th of November 2018 BUT NOT FOR WINDOWS 8.1!

Problem found, so sorry. No idea if AMD are planning on releasing a driver for Windows 8.1 as well at some point.

I forgot to make a reply. Maybe you could ask AMD if it is an oversight or if you are left in the cold as the newest driver is so old for you on W8.1.

Your options are a bit limited if AMD refuses to supply for Windows 8.1. You could install Linux (dual booting or not) and TRY getting the game to run in Wine as the Linux version is not out yet, if there is one coming. You could buy a new computer... yeah, expensive. You could upgrade to Windows 10 (would make Microsoft happy).

ATI was bought by AMD back in 2006. Sorry but a GPU from back then cannot handle this game. If you mean AMD, you should look at their site if there is a new enough driver for your card.

Hey there, did you contact AMD? They might just have forgot about the drivers for Windows 8.1 since Windows 7 and 10 both have been updated.

A word of warning too: Some computer brands block you from updating your graphics drivers from Nvidia and AMD and promise to have them on their own website instead.... but all too often they keep those up to date only for a year or so :-( You can remove the program that blocks you from updating from elsewhere than the manufacturer's website. I have heard that there are some that block you in the hardware but I doubt anyone dares do that anymore except maybe Apple.

I would like to add, if the lack of driver support for Windows 8.1 is the issue, you can install Windows 10 and activate using any Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 product key and obtain a digital license.

Create your WIM of the same edition that corresponds to your installed edition, if applicable. I believe that Windows 10 installation media now contains all editions and only installs the one that your key will activate if you use the Media Creation Tool to create an installation USB or DVD.

Windows 7 Home Premium -> Windows 10
Windows 7 Professional -> Windows 10 Pro
Windows 8 Pro -> Windows 10 Pro

If you do not have a COA sticker with your product key, the keys may be stored in UEFI/BIOS and can be automatically read during installation. There are various free tools that can also pull a product key from UEFI/BIOS from within a running Windows environment. You'll need to do this if you have to type them in manually before installation starts. I recommend obtaining your product keys before making any system alterations. Unless you know what you are doing, I would avoid trying to expose them from within UEFI/BIOS, as some systems have the option to clear the keys. They'll be gone for good if that option is selected by mistake.

I strongly advise making a full image backup of your system drive using a reputable imaging tool. Doing so will alllow you to revert back in case something goes wrong.
