On a new install of the Terran War pack, I'm noticing that the voice clips are not playing properly. The sound is definitely working, it's just that the VO isn't coming through.
After browsing around the egosoft forums, I see that many Windows users having this problem are able to remove certain codecs to solve the issue.

The rub, is that I'm on a Mac. Is there a solution here as well?

MacPro - Mac OS 10.9.5

While I haven't experienced that issue in X3TC, voice audio is broken on X3AP for both Mac and Linux users (and has been for over a year now).

We've uploaded a new build for X3 Terran War Pack that should solve the audio issues. If you use Galaxy, please allow Galaxy to update your game. If you prefer an offline build, please make sure you have the following build downloaded and installed on your machine:

x3_terran_war_pack_en_2.3.0.13.pkg

Let us know if you experience any further audio issues with any of the X games :)

Thank you so much for this. Can you confirm it should fix the issue on linux too ?

On January 9th we uploaded a new Linux version of X3 Terran War Pack that should have the voices fixed. If it's still not fixed for you, please send us a Support ticket :)

The issue is still present for Albion Prelude :/ I submitted a support ticket.

This appears to have been fixed for Mac.

If someone could verify on linux that'd be great.

Well I just downloaded the latest linux installer and started a new Argon peacekeeper game. The voiceovers seem to work now (in the sound settings menu, the Argon flight school).

What's weird is that I'm still seeing 00144.dat as an 0-byte file. So maybe some AP-specific voice acting is still missing, but I'll need a longer playthrough to confirm that.

So as not to leave this thread hanging—as noted over in the other audio thread, AP specific content is stored in game/addon/mov/00244.dat. The previously missing AP game/addon/mov/00044.pck maps audio from both TC's game/mov/00144.dat and AP's game/addon/mov/00244.dat.

There shouldn't be any missing scripted audio—of course if anyone notices otherwise, I'll try to investigate further ;)
