I want to rebuy the game here so I can get without Steam's annoying DRM which is causing me problems like I did with KSP. But my question is does the GOG version of "X3: Terran War Pack" come with the content in the "X3: Terran Conflict Bonus Package" and "X3: Albion Prelude Bonus Package" DLC's from Steam? I do not see those DLC's for download for the GOG version.

No, GOG version doesn't come with it, but you can easily pick them up, and install them from Egososft's site. Here are the links:

TC Bonus Pack

AP Bonus Pack
Downloading the bonus packs from Egosoft's site should not be too hard.

Another tiny difference is that the Steam version has a Steam exclusive start called Suicidal Squid, which is a dead is dead start where you cannot reload in case you die, for any reason.

I guess someone thought that would be... fun to have?

With self discipline, you can have the same kind of game.

LOL

Sorry ;) couldn't resist, really made me laugh.

Especially with X3-series. Like you just spent 300 hours with the game and out of the nice gate problems/docking sequence you just die and no turning back ;)

Gate problems, will never forget, sitting in my M5 or M4 doing some background trading setups, so setting up one of the traders of the bonuspack, while traveling from system to system, when this nice huge ship was just in front of me and because I was so concentrated on setting up trade routes that I only saw it too late, switched to pilot mode to just go crash boom kaput ;)

One of many reasons I do NOT do D.I.D. games. Another being technical problems like power loss or such.

ok, power loss, at least over here is not so often ;) (so bad in your place?) Also unlike other games X3 is quite stable running and does not crash so often. For my X3-reunion I only had like maybe 10 crashes (too much stuff opened in the background ;) )

D.I.D.? I only know the name Iron man for this...

Even rare things like instant computer death or power loss would kill your game just as much as crashing into a gate.

Yes, in many games it is called "ironman mode" or some such. No idea why they call it "Dead Is Dead". I know nothing about Reunion on Steam as I "only" have it here and on disc.

Aaaah, dead is dead ;)

Don't know why you assumed steam? Actually I have both series (x2 X3) on steam and GOG plus X3 (all) on CD. Yes I know a bit stupid and overpaid, but I really appreciate their work ;)

And it was just that when asking for the bonus packs reminded me of my story ;)

That's one reason why I love X2 and X3 so much, you could endlessly tell stories about it, which even would fit into real world (getting too a station which is selling/buying low/high, just to be beaten the last second ;) )
My most recent game-caused death happened when I flew towards a station for a mission in my Pirate Kestrel, and when I got to about 5km a cutscene started, followed shortly by the sound of my ship crashing into the station and the person I was to meet telling me "You're late". Well, yes, I am most definitely 'late' now, thank you very much.
Not that I care much about Dead Is Dead Mode here, but did anyone ever find a way to mod that into GOG version and get it working when offline and not connected to say Galaxy?
