Hello All,

I was just wondering whether anybody had managed to get Worms United running on Linux using the Native version of DOSBox? I can't seem to get mine running correctly and I wondered whether anybody had a solution.

I've edited the worms.bat file and replaced all the \ with / and also changed the dosbox.conf to point to the actual path, but dosbox crashes as soon as I try and launch it.

Cheers, Bez

I’m going to give it a try in the next days.
What distribution are you using?
I'm running Ubuntu MATE 15.04. I've not actually given it anymore of a go since my last post. If you do manage something let me know and possibly we could get it stickied?

I'll have another go myself in the next few days and see where that gets me.

EDIT: Turns out that I must have botched the installation somehow; I've just given it another shot and it works perfectly!
Just copy the [autoexec] section of the included config files and append them onto your favourite DOSBox config (I've got a standard one to handle fullscreen and HQ upscaling etc.) The only thing you need to alter is the path in the dosbox.config as the slashes are the wrong way round in windows.

EDIT 2: Singleplayer is working brilliantly, however if I try doing the multiplayer config (both host and client) it crashes as soon as I get past the opening movies. I'm not really bothered as I would only want to do hotseat, but somebody else may want to look into this further.

Looks like I’m a bit late, but you might still be interested in the script I wrote:

It will build a .deb package from the GOG-provided .exe installer (takes only a couple seconds), allowing for a good integration of the game with your desktop environment, including menu entries and the use of native DOSBox.

I'm happy with my own solution, but that looks much easier, well done!
Hopefully other people will find your solution easy, running with native dosbox is a huge plus as well.

P.S. Your NWN script looks really handy as well, I've known about the native client for a while, but never bitten the bullet to try and get it working. If yours is a simple as the Worms script you wrote I'll be very happy indeed. Thanks!

I tried to make it as easy to use as I could ;)
Should you have any difficulty to get it working, please tell me in the dedicated thread and I’ll guide you.
