When I bought Worms Forts of course I thought it'd be ready to go and play, unfortunately it does have issues with modern systems and I worked out two solutions with a bit of playing around with PC and looking on the internet.

Issue: Worms Forts crashes after title screen and in the main menu with a message "WF.exe stopped working"
Solution: That is a resolution issue which can be fixed using unofficial Worms Forts Launcher, launch the game using this and choose your native resolution with aspect off. Tested at 2560x1440 and game runs fine.

Issue: Worms Forts is running in slow motion.
Solution: This is a framerate issue, fix it using software like RivaTuner Statistic Server and set Framerate limit to 60 or 120, whichever suits you. For some reason V-Sync setting doesn't work, at least for me so I am just leaving this solution here just in case.

I hope that anyone looking for fixes will find them here!

Thanks for that, worked for me. Now I only need to find a fix for this weird mouse movement in game.
Try playing on Linux under Wine. I just finished another stage on Fedora 31 - what a blast!
