I can get behind that!
Seconded!
I am also interested in a Linux version of the game.

The developers are monitoring the demand for Linux and Mac ports and are considering porting the game:

If you want you can also ask for a Linux version on the Steam forums (link above).
I tried to post on the Steam forums to show my Interest, but:
_I need to create an account, OK, done
_I need to confirm my e-mail adress, OK Valve, just send me the confirmation e-mail
_I need to install the Steam client to send the confirmation e-mail?! No way!

XD

Edit: but wait! I don't think I had to do that when I was still using Steam. Maybe you've done something wrong. (?)

Well, I didn’t stop here:
_Okay, I’ll contact Steam support about it…
_Wait, I need to create *another* account for sending e-mails to support?! … Okay, done.
_Second account created, e-mail sent, now let’s hope they will be efficient.

EDIT:
Here is the page from which I read I need to go through the client to send the verification e-mail:

Well the WinXP machine died, and I'm probably not going to restore it, so Linux it is!

"Worms 2" was one of my all-time favourites. Give us a modern version of a classic Worms game on an open OS, and you've got yourself a sale!

Shadowcat: "Worms 2" was one of my all-time favourites.
Worms 2 runs well on Linux through WINE.
If you’re going to go with Debian or a Debian-based distribution (Ubuntu, Linux Mint, etc.), you might want to have a look on the script I wrote to install it easily.
Totally agree with this request. About 1/3 of my steam games are available on Linux and lots of new released games are made to work on Linux. It's not like if it should be a massive effort with all the cross platform engines available nowadays...
Okay, Steam Support seems to be a bunch of incompetents…

Like said earlier I sent them a ticket explaining I couldn’t validate my e-mail without going through the client. So they sent me an e-mail today telling me they’ve successfully… changed my password?!
Did they even read my ticket before doing this?
Fun part is now no password work: not the old one, neither the new one.

I’m done with Steam, I won’t go on through that hassle only to show my support to a developer that doesn’t seem to want to hear from people in any other place that Steam forums.

I've created a bug report on wineHQ some time ago but still nobody seems to be able to fix it.
