Hey all. I've got a Switch Pro controller connected by USB, and it works fine for other games. I started playing Wonder Boy/Girl and went to the settings to change to gamepad - and while the gamepad is recognised as #0, nothing happens when I actually press any buttons. I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting, no avail.

Hello,
Hmm, sorry to hear :(
What does the gamepad appears as in this menu?
If Windows doesn't recognize it as an XInput gamepad, then it needs to be explicitly configured (Wonder Boy as a DIrectInput configuration page for those cases).

Hey Omar,

I actually managed to work it out. It's a GOG issue, not a game issue. I found that if I add the game to Steam and run it, the controller works fine.
