For some reason, I can't unlock the achievement "I'm Machine Enough" in Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. The description just says "Beat the Panzerhund ride without killing anyone on "Bring 'em On!" difficulty or higher". I've read several guides on how to do it and watched videos showing that it works with the achievement popping, then tried it in a lot of different ways, but so far no luck. Here's what I can think of that I tried, some combinations of those too, of course:

- Using the Panzerhund for the first half of the level or continuing to use it as long as possible
- Leaving the Panzerhund intact, dismounting at some point, or letting it be destroyed
- Dismounting the Panzerhund right at the beginning of the level and going through it completely on foot
- Killing enemies while on foot or not, including doing the whole level in a stealth way so as not to be spotted at all
- Collecting pick ups like health and armor or ignoring everything on the way
- Taking different routes through the level
- Going to the level exit or only to the end of the sewers, dropping down into the water
- Playing it on the difficulties "Bring 'em On", "Do or die!" (the next hardest difficulty) and "I am death incarnate!" (the most difficult one aside from permadeath "Mein Leben!")
- Using a savegame from the start of the level or from the end of the previous level to load the achievement level in a fresh state
- Moving my save files and configuration, then replaying the game from complete scratch with default settings up to that point
- Having all DLCs installed or none
- Galaxy overlay enabled or not

I'm at a loss, everything else worked perfectly (didn't and won't do the permadeath achievements though). The unlock rates on GOG are not high, but seeing how it is so easily missable, that's not surprising. The percentage is still fine at 0.4% vs. Steam at 1.5%, at least it's not broken in any significant way or it would be way lower. Haven't found anyone reporting a problem this extensive about the achievement either...

So it seems like it is an isolated problem only I am facing. I'm playing the international version (just mentioning that because I'm German and we have a separate, censored edition of the game as well). There's no version to rollback to, according to the downloads and Galaxy, I'm on 6.5.0.1331. Ah, and I am still using the old Galaxy version 1.2.67, but this has never been a problem in any other game, so I'm ruling that out. Maybe I will try it again some day, when I have a new system and fresh OS installation and am running stable Galaxy 2 (should that ever be a thing...).

Does someone have any ideas besides that or maybe a save file that's known to have worked with the GOG version I could use?

I was curious about this one, so I started Wolfenstein, tried a couple of times the simulation and figured out that wasn't the right level :)
So I loaded up one of my old saves and started the level from the beginning, killed a bounch of people without using the Panzerhund at all, and unlocked the achievment without any problem.

It's really strage how, in your case, the game didn't want to unlock the achievement, if you want I can share with you my save, right at the start of the level, so you can try it yourself

I've tried my save on the German edition, just to verify if it refuses to work there too. And of course, it did refuse. Also tried toggling the overlay on and off in the game (it's broken for me anyway). Nope.

Thanks a lot for your save file. It's also set to the last valid non-permadeath difficulty level I hadn't tried, "Call me Terror-Billy!", so I went with that. Unfortunately, no luck with it either.

But when extracting your file, I had the idea to purge everything in my SLOT0, so that even the PROFILE folder containing the progression files is gone and only your GAME-WOLF2 folder remains. I did keep the profile files in the parent directory though. Anyway, after doing that, it finally popped, just by doing the same stuff I did dozens of times before. I have no idea if this is what eventually made it work, but no matter - this problem is finally solved for me... and what a pain it was.
