Check me on this:there is no way to advance time in this game except by standing around waiting, right? I am allergic to nighttime, so want to wait for dawn.

Yes, you have to just wait in real time, unfortunately. For a safe spot for a certain class promotion, just jump-climb atop the city wall, onto some trees, or landing behind it.

You can work around that (and nightly rages, too^^) by using DxWnd. Aside from the advantage of having WaW running in a window, it also has an internal time stretching feature to speed up the game whenever necessary.
