I reloaded 20 times in a row, and everytime my human barbarian with fortitude 12 got only 1 hitpoint in the level up process. Is this normal or do i encounter a bug? I don't remember the hitpoint progression being so weak, especially when leveling up an barbarian.
(Haven't played the game, and haven't even bought it yet.)

This sounds like how early Wizardry games would handle HP growth; when you level up, the game re-calculates your HP from scratch. For example, if you just reached level 2 and your class gets 1d12 HP per level, the game would roll 2d12 and that becomes your new HP; if the result is not bigger than your old HP, the game instead gives you only one HP.

So, perhaps your level is low, and your HP is much higher than what a Barbarian of your level would be expected to have. (Perhaps you accumulated HP in another class and then changed into a Barbarian?)
Yes i had serveral levels as fighter, because you have to start with a different class to become barbarian. Sounds like a strange system. I always thought it's just a dice roll.
As I recall, when you first switch roles, your hp/level is low until you reach the level of your previous class.

Also, hp/level is generally leveled out to give you an average. In other words, if you were to save before levelling and only accept rolls that were a high number, after a few levels, all you would get is low hp rolls.

Yes you are right, i found this information in the manual finally. Apperantly i have missed this feature.
