The new Wizardry came out and for $14, I thought I would try it.

I can not get past generating a character.

How do I allocate the bonus points. None of my keyboard keys allow me to move over there. Nor does the mouse.
I've have been using a gamepad and it works fine. That might be your problem, trying to use a keyboard for a game that needs a gamepad.

The only time it didn't work was when I was making a new character that I could add the the party. I had to switch to keyboard to type in a name and select some other things. After that, it was back to gamepad.

I just remembered. There was an option to customize the controls. Looking at it right now, it has (up down left right) keys on the right side of the keyboard are for directions. z is confirm, x is cancel. a is map, s is camp menu. q is scroll left, w is scroll right, shift is turbo, and enter is start.

I just tried to make a new character, I was able to push the right button to increase a stat, and left to remove an increase. You need to meet certain minimum stats to become a member of a class.

Default keys are the arrows.
I reset them in settings to what I wanted them to be.
Though honestly, I plugged in a controller afterwards, it's easier in truth, though the keyboard works just fine for me.
You need to do the following before you can assign bonus points:
* Choose a race and alignment for the character. (Not sure if you have to choose sex.)
* Go to the place where the option to choose a class should be.
* Press confirm ('Z' under default controls).
* You can now spend your bonus points using the arrow keys.
* (I don't remember whether you press confirm or cancel (default 'X') when you're done assigning bonus points.)

Edit: One more comment, particularly for those stumbling across this topic in an internet search and it not being what they expected:
* In some Wizardry games, including this one, there is a status ailment called "Lost", which generally occurs as a result of a second failed resurrection (first one turns the character to Ash), or if Vitality drops below 3 at level up (don't know if that can happen). This status is generally incurable (exceptions exist in Wizardry 2 and 5, but as far as I know not in Labyrinth of Lost Souls), so the only thing you can do is create a new character, or reload if you haven't saved before hand. (In LoLS, save before you try to revive a character without Wish, particularly if the character has already turned to Ash; also be aware that this version auto-saves whenever you enter/leave the dungeon or switch dungeon floors.)
