I have a lot of GoG games that come with Boxer / Dosbox - that is great because I can easily change the settings and run them in Windowed Mode for example.

But all games that require Wine always run in Fullscreen Mode and I have searched and searched and googled but I haven't found out how to change this! Someone posted for Fallout 1 that he did change some config file and was able to run it in Windowed Mode, but I can not find any config file. All I can find are binaries.

Can anyone please help me out?

try running it with parameter /window, i.e. [wiz8_v1261_nocd.exe /window]
there is also a keyboard shortcut, think its Ctrl+F12

Sometimes command+return will work (or command+shift+return?) to switch to windowed mode, but this only works with some Wine games, not with others. If you've already got another mac-related keyboard shortcut set to this combination, you'll need to toggle it off in system preferences>keyboard>shortcuts.

If you hold down the "option" key while double clicking the game app it will bring up the Wine menu, where you can change resolutions/etc. under "Set Screen Options" but I have personally not had much luck with this method.

From the same Wine menu (under "Advanced") you can add flags to the .exe line, "-window" (without quotes) will sometimes work if it's supported by the particular game.

Unfortunately with Wine games if you can get to a Windowed mode the window is (often/always?) not a resizeable window. Also sometimes you can't move the mouse outside the window and still need to close the game if you want to do something else on your desktop.

(Sorry I cannot comment on Wiz8 directly, I have not got around to playing it yet!)

Thanks! Holding the ALT / Option Key did the trick. I was able to configure to run Wineskin in a Virtual Desktop with a custom resolution, so in the End it is in a Window, and the Game itself runs in Fullscreen within that Virtual Desktop. Perfect - just what I wanted!

Hooray :)! And thank you too, I've made a note for my own records too that "virtual desktop" works in this case for when I eventually play this game.
