I'm sure this has probably been said a billion times, but I would love to see Nightdive do a remastered version of Wiz8.

As much fun as it is to get everything to run as best as it can on my 4k screen, I would much rather pay $15 to $20 for a remaster that fixes boat loads of bugs, issues, and having modern resolution support without jumping through hoops and downloading mods. I know everyone on here(including myself) is probably used to downloading mods and adjusting gamefiles but sometimes it is just nice to startup a game without having to take hours or days to get it running smoothly.

Along with Wizards & Warriors (2000), i would fully support Nightdive, or another team, to get Wiz8 remastered. If they can get a game like Shadow Man remastered, than Wiz 8 should be a cinch

This is one of my favorite games of all time, this and Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction. I'm old school, 80s baby, 90s teen, 2000s young adult (Millennial). I love the older games, I don't mind bad graphics, I think most of the newer games coming out have better graphics, but suck, and are cash cows for big corporations (Diablo: Immortal, Command and Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight).
Wizardry 8 could use a few tweaks, but overall, I play vanilla 1.2.4. I'm afraid of mods messing up my computer, or the game itself, somehow. I would probably add Magic Nectar and/or Mana Stones to Burz's inventory, because I believe that Magic Damage Parties get an unfair disadvantage early on, before Arnika (no way to restore spell points besides resting). Resting causes more respawns, so it's a never ending slug fest just to get to Arnika.
DTGreene believes that Fairies have too many disadvantages, and I don't entirely disagree. Maybe they should get faster spell point regeneration and/or better armor class to offset the lack of good Fairy equipment and low carry capacity. Overall, though, the races are pretty well balanced. I'm biased towards Humans, because, well, I am a Human, and they get the most total attribute points, only missing out on random resistances, which can be easily fixed with Magic Screen, Element Shield, and Soul Shield.
Maybe enemies leveling with you should be heavily restricted, so that monsters on the Arnika Road can only spawn at level 6 or 7, and grinding in the Monastery would allow you to stomp them.
I'm not holding my breath though, unfortunately. W8 is like a cult classic, there aren't enough of us old school gamers anymore, and it's a new generation of Zoomers that want their good graphics. I'm just grateful to be able to download the game, and play it without a CD.
Wizardry has a remaster already... it's called Labyrinth of Lost Souls and is on Gog so i own it but personally like the old Wiz8 better

each to their own of course

That game isn't a remaster of Wizardry 8. It's a translated port of a Japanese Wizardry game that was originally released for the PlayStation 3, and that originally had microtransactions. The game is rather unlike the Dark Savant trilogy, and instead plays more like Wizardry 1.

Incidentally, I think that Elminage Gothic is a better game than Wizardry: LoLS, and I'd also give Stranger of Sword City Revisited a look if you're into these sorts of games, but they're still nothing like Wizardry 8.

I think the benefits the fairy gets in Wizardry 8 are fine, at least before other races get equipment that makes them surpass fairies in what they're supposed to be good it. It's just that, once robes of rejuvenation show up, fairies no longer have anything left going for them, as other races can now regen SP much faster than fairies can.

Also, I'd prefer it if you wouldn't capitalize my username that way.

Edit: Also, there's actually a sequel to Labyrinth of Lost Souls, and it features many improvements including some new classes, one of which has an ability that makes offensive spells viable later in the game. Unfortunately, said sequel only got released in Japan and has no English version, and no PC version. (It might be possible to emulate it these days, due to emulation improvements, but I think that might not have been feasible at the time of LoLS's PC release.)

I'll definitely give some of these badboys a try,

but it is what im saying when I sometimes just want to install a game without having to constantly find patches, fixes, and mods to make it run smooth. There is also the area where remasters add back in cut content, fix controls, add controls, add QoL improvements, HD cutscenes, optimize code, etc etc. Don't get me wrong, I do also enjoy at times finding and tinkering with games, mods, finding source ports and such.

I've often thought this as well for Wizardry 8. I'd definitely pay up to $25 for a proper well done remaster/port. If it's too niche to make money I'd love to see it get the treatment like we've seen done with Doom/GZDoom. The amount of mods and fun we could have once it's on a newer engine could be endless.
