Finally tracked down the exact dog I've been looking for and after a couple minutes to get a taste of how good it is, it crashes. Every time. Has anyone gotten this to work on Windows 10 reliably? It's a new system with a AMD graphics card. The game crashes after about 5 minutes every time. If not sooner. Please help me.

Really appreciate it.
System = Ryzen K17 + stock cool
Asus B350-Plus
Radeon RX 550 (4g)
Windows 10 pro
*8 g ram
Asus Rog Sica mouse

Game installs and runs just fine

the windows install from gog is missing the starting characters and savegame but you can make a fresh party or just place a copy of your old saves into the folder.

p.s, sounds like you need a system scan... what anti-virus and up date your g-card drivers
Now it won't start at all. My graphics drivers are up to date and my antivirus is disabled. Still won't start.

Any ideas?
OK downloaded the wiz8fix from GOG and it runs now. I created my whole party, entered the game then crash "Wiz * stopped working".

Anyone have any ideas? I'd really appreciate help.
When I run in software mode from the 3d setup, the game doesn't crash, but there are grid like lines throughout the screen and the visual glitches. But again it doesn't crash as it does with Direct7.

Sorry about the major bump, but did you ever find a solution for this? I can't get the game to start at all. It was working fine on Windows 7, but when I upgraded to 10, I started to have issues. Nothing else about my computer has changed.

Had the same problem, found an answer online. First run as administrator and in compatibility mode for windows 7. Also, go into the game directory for wizardry 8. Under DATA/INTRO/FLICKS delete all movie files. Make a backup of them fist to be safe. These are the cutscenes, removing them is a loss, but it did fix the problem.
Making the game work!
