Here's a pic of the crash message:

What's happening is when i go down the elevator into Lower Marten's Bluff, I get the loading screen then it crashes to desktop with this error. The error's pretty descriptive as far as errors go; the game quits because there's either no data or malformed data for the T'Rang Watcher NPCs' disposition toward the player.

I kind of doubt this can be fixed because of the steps I've already taken to try to resolve the problem:

Restart the game
Reinstall the game
Check for errors/defects in RAM and HDD
Update drivers
(and so forth)

I'm interested in knowing if there's such a thing as a save game editor for this game which includes the ability to adjust NPC disposition toward the player (you can see this information in the in-game journal such as Friendly, Neutral, Hostile for each group you've come in contact wtih).

Otherwise I suspect I'll just start over. With a better party of course :)
Any mods installed?
Haha i totally forgot to say that I'm using Reforged 1.1. I failed to get any kind of support over at the postcount forums though, its super dead over there.
Perfect wiz8 editor that lets you do everything you want is cosmic forge: http://mad-god.webs.com/downloads.htm
You don't need to start a new game after making changes to files.
Dunno about the bug itself, I've never seen such an error. Did you try redownloading reforged 1.1 with all its fixes/patches and installing it again (http://www.zimlab.com/wizardry/)?

Yeah I redownloaded the game from GOG and the mod+patches from zimlab and reinstalled it all without any change in behavior. I'm checking out Cosmic Forge but it's not clear to me how to edit my party/characters. I'll keep looking.

You're not able to directly edit your party/savegame in CF. You're operating on GAME files there, not your saves. I thought that you want to edit certain npcs reaction towards your chars (as you said in OP) - for this you'll need cosmic forge. But if you're looking just for normal save editors check these two below (I've linked them in another topic here few months back so it's a quote). Though I seriously doubt that they'll fix your problem. Instead try adjusting that particular t'rang npc reaction towards your party with CF. Or delete him/his script. Or move him. Experiment :P

Yea, I've got two of them.
First one is from polish Wiz8 site (probably taken from another site anyway) so I'm not gonna reupload it. Here's the link: http://reddig.republika.pl/zip/editor.zip
Don't worry it's not infected :P
As far as I remember it's pretty decent editor (you can edit EXP, inventory, race, class and skills etc) but interface is somewhat... problematic. I mean there's a looooong list of items/skills that you can't filter so you just have to scroll through them all to find that one you want.

And here comes the second one. To be honest i have no idea where I've downloaded it so I'll reupload it here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/jiyx0h
I remember that you can't directly edit EXP here but it has much better interface when it comes to changing perks/skills/items (everythins is categorized etc.).
You can always use both as I did :)
And they both work with Windows7 of course.
