So in Wiz 6, I lose a guy and I want to reload. What's the best way to do this?

If I close and relaunch the game, I have to deal with the DRM again which takes time.

If I want to just quit-nosave, then I have to finish the fight which can also take a while.

Is there an easier way to end the fight quickly and reload my game?
DRM? what are you talking about? Unless your playing the German version you just hit enter to bypass the copy protection..

no problem, I admit it's to think that the Copy Protection is still there since it pops up but it's gone same with the DOS version of Wizardry 7 well the english version of Wiz 7 anyway. I guess GOG couldn't remove it for the German version since it ended up causing all melee attack to fail.

Also forgot to mention there is a item called the Amulet of Life which you can find early on it's in a hallway with a fountain and holes in the wall, in two of these holes are two chest one opposite from the other, one is marked "Open First" and the other says to open it second. Inside these chests are a Sword of striking and some gold, the other has various potions and the Amulet of life which allows you to resurrect a fallen party member, bearing in mind though it can fizzle or backfire especially in the middle of combat. Not sure how many uses it has since I rarely used it myself but it can be useful early on.

DCT: chests!
Interestingly enough, if you open the chest marked "Open me second" before the "first" chest, it contains different loot. If you open it first, you get a Stave of Missiles and some Iron Keys, while if you open it second you get the Sword of Striking and some gold. The "Open me first" chest with the Amulet of Life and the assorted potions is always the same, though.

huh, never knew that was always afraid to try it that way since it's wizardry I figured that if you did it out of order something negative will happen.
By the way it's much better to sell the Amulet of Life to Queeqeg for about 12k gold which is a huge amount of money, especially in the beginning.

I never use it because it lowers Vitality permanently. It's better just to reload if a character dies.

+1 to this. That 12k is very useful and Resurrection is very costly for that vitality reason. It's much better to constantly save and reload if you mess up. If you get into the habit of saving whenever you do ANYTHING then you'll never lose any progress if you need to reload after a messed up fight.

eh I personally found it useful to use at least once or twice early on,vitality loss and all since I always end up getting one or two characters killed at some point before they hit level 2 or 3 and it just got annoying constantly doing the whole saving and reloading thing every f-ing time that happened, now if it happened to me more then twice then yeah but it rarely does so it didn't phase me to take the vitality loss.
